Bio

Growing up as the second child in a family of seven children, Aaron was always driven to pursue dreams. "Faith and family were exemplified as core values by our parents. There was never any doubt what was most important to them," says Aaron. His parents made big sacrifices to give each kid opportunities to pursue their dreams and interests. Aaron attributes his success to a lot of hard work, his family and friend's support, and God's grace. Aaron's dad taught him to play a few songs on piano by the age of 8, and some guitar by the age of 10, but Aaron had a hard time sticking with them because he was more interested in the drums. "I remember looking at pictures of drum sets and just being fascinated by them. To see a kit in person was so exciting to me as a kid." For the next 10 years that was what Aaron pursued, forming a band with his best friends called Echoing Eternity, and also drumming at his church and youth group. "We were really blessed in that band to get to play all the places we did. We went to the UK a couple times, and played all around Texas. It was lots of fun. And our friendships really grew because of that whole experience," says Aaron. "Now looking back, I like having the background of drumming because I think it gives me a broad perspective as a writer and worship leader." Aaron left the group in 04 and finished earning his Marketing degree from the University of North Texas in 05. After a 3 year break from doing music, Aaron got the opportunity to start leading worship for a church in Denton, TX called The Bridge. "If you had told me in 05 or 06 that I would later be a worship leader, writing songs again, and recording an album, I would have looked at you like you were crazy. I had no interest. I was burned out with music and more interested in climbing the corporate ladder. But God has a way of turning our hearts in the right season." Since 2007, he has led that congregation while continuing a career in the financial industry as a business-to-business relationship manager to independent financial advisors. In 2009, with the encouragement of some friends, Aaron set out to complete and release an album with the songs he had been writing over the past couple years. The debut album, Freedom Calls, has been well received both locally and internationally. Aaron's passion for God and for leading worship can be felt in each song. He has a unique way of engaging people as a worship leader.

Freedom Calls is not only a fresh sound in a flooded market....it's a cry of the heart. Aaron's desire is to see freedom released in people's lives. Freedom from sin, from bondage, from mindsets that hold us back and tell us we're not worth anything. Freedom to be who God has called us to be, and to do what He's called us to do. Freedom Calls began as a self produced project, but soon gained attention from Dove and Grammy nominated artist Alan Villatoro (Integrity Music Latin). Alan was very impressed by the quality of writing and Aaron's musical talent. The instruments were produced and recorded by Aaron (with some help on guitar leads from good friend Ryan Kirk), and the vocals produced and recorded with the help of Villatoro at TVP studios in Houston. Villatoro also mixed and mastered the album. Simply put, "This guy is good," says Alan. Throughout the album, Aaron’s prolific writing gift shines through. Songs like Thankful remind us that we don't deserve what God has done for us. Offering tells us that our lives should be an offering to Christ, because we already belong to Him anyway. The title track, Freedom Calls, perhaps carries the most powerful message of hope for us all. In our brokenness, weakness, and failures, true freedom is calling out to us. It's freedom through the cross. Freedom through Jesus. We don't deserve it, we can't earn it, but God offers it to us nonetheless. "For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." (Psalm 103:11)
