Ambient rock with passionate vocals and deeply personal lyrics that just about anyone can relate to.

Biography

My name's Aaron Matthew Jones, and I'm originally from St. Louis, MO. I was in several bands back at home that achieved mostly local success, but consistently was confronted with problems, both personal and band-oriented. I joined the Air Force back in 2004, and the same music that I was so passionate about was forced on the back burner for my career, responsibilities, and a relocation to Oklahoma City. After two years of dabbling, I realized how unhappy I was without the music in my life, and I started writing once again. The inspiration hit me hard, and I wrote three songs within a two week period. While my main focus used to be beauty through simplicity, I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and attempt to create a more mature, technically challenging sound, along with using experimental tunings for added diversity. While I still occasionally write with simplicity, my primary goal is to write lyrics that speak to the hearts of whomever is listening. Music is the one universal language, and I try to speak to everyone in some way or another.

Lyrics

Fall Into You

Written By: Aaron Matthew

Sure I
I will take you
To a world I'm swallowed in
Why do I
Call upon you
When you are helpless too?

I'll admit, there's nothing in between
Me and what I'd die to be
If I cut myself free
Then I'd fall into you

This shoreline
Is broken in two
Part of me and part of you
Moonlight
And sun remain the same
When will they fade away?

Ode to a Teenage Tragedy

Written By: Aaron Matthew

School bell rings, I can't wait
To meet you after
So take my hand and we'll go
To that secret place we know

Will she kiss me this time?
I wish I weren't so shy
So looks so pretty, I can't believe
She's with me

But all those days
And all those nights
They don't compare with this
Can we freeze this moment
Replay in time?
But these dreams
They can't survive

We change yet stay the same
Can this last forever?
You told me once but say it again
Is this real? Check yes or no

What a tragedy
How far apart we've grown
What a tragedy
Well here's to growing old
What a tragedy
The road that we've been on
Has diverged

But all those days
And nights they don't
Compare to where we've been
Can we freeze that moment
Replay in time?
But these dreams
They can't survive

Send Angels

Written By: Aaron Matthew

Lonely tears can't wash away
The brokenness, they fall the same
She looks to him, he's sound asleep
A stranger lies between these sheets

She wants so much
To fill this need
For a love unyielding but she can see
All he wanted he took for free
But she lost everything
Everything

He searched through all
Life's mysteries, he can't believe
The life he breathes is nothing more
Than consequence, no purpose
Why should we exist?

He wants so much to fill this need
For a love unyielding
But he can't see
All they showed him
Were empty dreams
And he lost everything

Oh God, if you're listening
Send angels
Cause I'm lost and I need
To fly away
Take me away to Heaven
And save me from myself

Why do we do this to ourselves?
Despair it seems, the only release
Someday we'll wake and then
We'll see
That pain is bound
And love comes free

We want so much to fill this need
For a hope unyielding
Why can't we see
Somewhere within
Our freedom sleeps
If we'd only believe?

That God, you are listening
Send angels
Cause I'm lost and I need
To fly away
Take me away to Heaven
And save me from myself

Away to Heaven
Take me away...

Take me away to Heaven
And save me from myself

Lonely tears can't wash away
The brokenness, they fall the same

A Child's Song

Written By: Aaron Matthew

I recall when the world was young
There was no future out of reach
Time, it fades
Now all we were comes crashing down
Around our feet

The years have come and gone
And tomorrow may never come at all
But we will always have
Those memories
Alive, we sang a child's song

Through the years
So much has changed the mirror
Tells us it couldn't last
How can I see ahead of me
When all my peace lies in the past?

So It Ends

Written By: Aaron Matthew

Sink into me
In a world that feels so cold
Tell me why am I so afraid?
Tonight, there's nothing to fear

Let this world burn down around us
You are lost here in my head
And if tonight is the last night
We will see
You are found here until the end

Touch me again
Be my life, be my angel for tonight
Tell me how far is forever?
I breathe, I die for you

I belong to you
You belong to me
Let the world burn
Let it burn

So it ends
(You are lost here in my head)
So it ends
(You are lost here in my head)
Come to me
(You are lost here in my head)
So it ends
(You are lost here in my head)

Discography

(2009) - The Intervention EP

Set List

My typical set list would definitely consist of my 5 songs off of the Intervention EP. However, I've written several dozen, so I can pull more out if required. I have material that can easily make an hour set, but I could also do longer if required, granted that I have a few minutes of an intermission somewhere in the midst. I do some covers, such as "The Freshman" by the Verve Pipe, "Good Riddance" by Green Day and "Bad Day" by Fuel. I mostly like to stick with my own material, though I don't mind throwing some covers in as well.
