"Long Way Home Album Review"

The musicianship on the new album is clearly evident...The tiny and ambient 'Jade' is one of the most interesting songs...'The Good Life' could easily find a home on the stereo of any college music fan."

"Aaron Newman Song Review"

"...they are quite different from each other and demonstrate versatility. . The vocal is natural and relaxed and holds it's own in the mix. This song is quite alternative and avoids cliches, strong and interesting. I would search out more stuff from this guy."
- Jaws

"Band Review"

"Imagine The Beatles and Sublime with a splash of the blues - now you've got an idea of the spectacular music produced by this high-energy band from Oklahoma City"
- Chris Colberg, newsok.com - Daily Oklahoman

Bio

Aaron Newman Band is an ideology: the search for musical innovation. It is a fresh breath in the wake of today's tired tried acts. Not concerned with any one style of music or audience, rather, ANB constantly employs elements from many styles with the intent of engaging the ears of listeners of all musical backgrounds and tastes. From Country to Rock and Jazz to Pop, all of these sonic variants are made manifest in its music.

ANB has shared the stage with acts such as Jakob Dylan of the Wallflowers, Aranda, Jason Boland, Graham Colton, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey and played festivals with bands such as Of Montreal, Tea Leaf Green and Other Lives.

Aaron Newman first became known for being the Vocalist/Guitarist for the Oklahoma City act Lemma. Lemma originally consisted of Bassist, Luke Mullenix and Vocalist/Guitarist, Gabriel Marshall of the "Damn Quails" and Drummer Jeff Woods. While this lineup of Lemma was a group for two years, the only album to their credit is an acoustic effort between the collaberation of Newman and Marshall. There are currently no copies in circulation at this time. Around the second year of Lemma, Andrew Vollmer from Melbourne, Austrailia was added to the lineup to play keys and saxiphone for the band. Around that time, Marshall moved on to other projects, so Lemma hired guitarist Blake Lennon from the Norman band "Resident Funk" to join the band. Around that time was the release of their first album titled "Long Way Home" which unfortunately spelled the departure of Andrew Vollmer and Jeff Woods shortly after its release. Lemma then picked up drummer Jeff Wesner from the "Hannah Wolf Band" to join the group, but it was also short lived. In 2011, Drummer Walton Mcmurry joined the lineup, and helped Lemma finish there Sophmore self titled album. Three of the tracts do however feature Jeff Wesner. Coincidentally, while Lemma finished their Sophmore effort in 2011, "The Damn Quails" released their debut album, "Down the Hatch" which included Mullenix on that album. The album went on to make it in ITunes top 100 sing/songwriter charts and number 1 on the Texas Country Music Charts. With such great success of "The Damn Quails" it forced Mullenix into having to hit the road with the Quails, leaving Lemma short a bass player. Not long after, Lennon was brought in to play acoustic guitar, mandolin and keys for the Quails. In 2012, Aaron decided to form the "Aaron Newman Band" which have at times included singer/songwriter John Calvin on lead guitar, Walton Mcmurry on drums, Aaron Tomasko on bass, and Dan Harp on keys. Aaron Newman is planning to start recording an acoustic album and a full band album in the later part of 2012. the release date of each album is yet to be determined.
