"Get us up and moving!"

We are so excited to have Aaron Nigel Smith as a new sponsor of Because Babies Grow Up. We received Everyone Loves To Dance a few weeks ago and it has been a lifesaver! I turn in on every day while I’m making dinner and it gets the girls moving, singing, and most importantly, out of the kitchen! I love to listen to it while I’m cooking, too, because it’s just so fun.

Aaron Nigel Smith has been quite busy recently touring with the Ziggy Marley Family Time Tour, Between the Lions Live, NEA Read Across America Tour. Let me tell you, after all that, he has got kids down pat! His voice and inflection, his lyrics and the energy of his music all appeal to the youngest of listeners, and even on up to grown ups. His music has also received the NAPPA and iParenting awards. When I showed Sammi this video, she loved it instantly. Grab your little one and enjoy! - Babies Grow Up

"Everyone Loves to Dance!"

My Review: Even though this is a children’s CD, my 11 year old daughter loved it and so did I. The reggae influences are easy to hear on many of the songs. Aaron Nigel Smith’s talent is as versified as the various songs on the CD. We loved to hear the children’s giggles included on “We Are The Fishies” and hip hop on “Music and Movement”. We laughed along and were amazed to hear some old songs that we sang together when Samantha was little turned into new versions. It’s a great CD for at home to get us moving and in the car to get us singing along.

"Aaron Nigel Smith-Everyone Loves to Dance!"

A few weeks ago I wrote about the Activators program and a great CD (go enter the giveaway here!), the Activators featuring Aaron Nigel Smith. After I posted that review, I was given the opportunity to review another CD by Aaron Nigel Smith, called Everyone Loves to Dance.

Daniel and I keep talking about the fact that we're probably going to have to replace our habit of listening to NPR all the time with some kids' music, or else our kids are going to mutiny! It's hard to find kids' music that I also like to listen to, so I was really glad to get this CD. This CD is just a lot of fun. The music is upbeat and bouncy, but not repetitive and annoying. The music is a bit reggae, and the lyrics are catchy. I found myself singing along within just a few minutes. We've been listening to the CD at home, and Ethan loves to dance around the living room while it plays.

The CD features guest singers like Ziggy Marley and Kevin Richardson (from the Backstreet Boys). Also, the last three songs are dance remixes of songs on the CD, done by a Grammy Award-winning mixer! So you know this CD has to be cool :)

If you're looking for a fun new CD for your music collection, definitely check this one out! Go here to hear clips from the songs!

"Nursery Rhymes with a Twist"

Aaron Nigel Smith released an album last year, Everyone Loves to Dance, and he includes a few new takes on old songs, like Muffin Man and This Little Piggy, but he does another fun twist on Row Row Row Your Boat, Rowing In the River, that’s really cool. Aaron’s version is super funky with a great reggae beat. I bet you had no idea you could do so much with this simple song! - Boston Children's Music

Bio

Aaron actively promotes the positive effects of music and movement as an integral part of early education through his recordings as well as his enrichment program, FUNdamentals of Music and Movement. Launched in 2002 in Los Angeles, FUNdamentals is now the program of choice for over 100 schools nationwide! The uptempo, hook-filled tunes created for his curriculum get kids literally jumping off the floor while exploring key developmental concepts. His songs have been described as “some of the best targeted music for kids today,” and PBS agrees. Aaron was recently invited to join the cast of the Emmy Award-winning PBS Kids show “Between the Lions.”

His entertaining stage show has been featured around the country as part of the Ziggy Marley Family Time Tour, Between the Lions Live, NEA Read Across America Tour, NBC/Universal, Sony, Warner Brothers, Paramount, Fox Studios Family Concerts, and the Sierra Nevada World Music and Abbott Kinney Festivals. He received the NAPPA and iParenting awards for his first release, Let’s Pretend, in 2005. Most recently, Aaron collaborated with Ziggy Marley and the Palisades Children’s Choir on the new hit Tuff Gong release of Bob Marley songs for kids, B is for Bob.

Aaron Nigel Smith assembles an all-star team to create his super cool children's CD. Everyone Loves to Dance will have its digital launch on January 15, 2010. Parents and kids alike will love these hip original tunes as well as funky new arrangements of popular classics. Ziggy Marley, Kevin Richardson from The Backstreet Boys, DJ DREZ, and local LA artists Rhythm Child rock with Aaron on select songs. Grammy Award-winning mixer Myke Aaron closes out the CD with three pumping dance mixes that will keep the whole family jammin’.
