Biography

Having each completed a Bachelor of Music (with First Class Honours) at the prestigious WA Academy of Performing Arts, Nick Abbey, Chris Foster and Ben Falle have become highly sought-after performers in the Perth (and Australian) jazz scene. They have collectively played with the who's who of Australian jazz, as well as impressive list of international luminaries, including the likes of John Scofield, George Garzone, Paul Bollenbeck, Howard Levy, Rachael Price and others.

Since forming in 2007 (as the Chris Foster Trio), Abbey/Foster/Falle has evolved to feature the compositional talents of these three exciting musicians. Combining their shared love for the great modern jazz trios (including Brad Meldhau, EST and the Avishai Cohen Trio), as well as other diverse influences ranging from hip-hop to European classical music, the group has developed a unique, identifiable and engaging sound, and has gained a reputation for their not-to-be-missed performances.

Recent acknowledgements of the group have seen Ben take out the 2nd place in the National Jazz Awards last Novemeber, and Nick winning the WA Music Industry award for Song of the Year for 2012.

The group has just finished work on their debut studio release "Brotherhood", which is currently in post-production. The album, which is set to be available in early December, features 11 of the group's original compositions and is not-to-be-missed!
