(Of Abbey's new Single 'Me Nah No!'
...really sound unique; with your combination of soap opera and humor, this could be a TV show! The island elements are combined with urban flavors to create a sound all your own, making me think of the tough Grace Jones tracks that made disco seem not so boring.'
MUSIC INDUSTRY REVIEW
...vocals are top notch; funny and rhytmically arresting. The attitude and patois of the lead vocal is both authentic and modern, giving the island flavor a big city treatment. Plus, the "Me Nah No!" line is hilarious in the chorus. The story line and the island lilt of the vocal are excellent.'

Bio
Abbey Kyat AKA 'Island Chick' began her career in 1993 chanting along with a local Deejay named Sli of Sli Productions. Often emulating artists such as Shelly Thunder, Patra, Sister Carol and Queen Latifah, Abbey caught the ear of local Producer Seko V. of the Virginia-based Seko Sound System. She joined the group in 1993 and began doing shows and mixed tapes. Abbey's powerful, tough voice is often compared to Lady Patra and Grace Jones; and she describes her music as funny and entertaining.
