Bio
Abby Green has been travelling and playing for audiences nationwide for ten years, four years of those, she toured full time. She brings life to traditional Celtic songs with stories, her bouzouki, and her clear vibrant vocals. Audiences enjoy hearing about travels and the journeys that traditional songs take. Her personable style makes her a natural for festivals, coffee houses, house concerts, and public concert series. Abby has performed on dozens of festival stages. She collaborates regularly with other instrumentalists and harmonizing vocalists both in the recording studio and live on stage.
Abby has released 3 CDs and she has compiled a book of traditional songs. Éiníní was released in 2008, Fig for a Kiss in 2011, and Why Should I? in 2015 are each collections of ten traditional songs. Each CD has its own flavor and highlights Abby's musical vision in different ways. The book, The Tradition of Irish Song, released in 2015 offers enthusiasts and musicians a look at traditional song and includes general pronunciation guides for songs in the Irish language. Sharing traditional music is key to Abby's work as a musician. She frequently teaches workshop classes at festivals to allow festival-goers the chance to dip their toes into the Irish language singing waters.
