Abigail Calling was formed by Patrick ("Patty Boy") Di Meo, Kenrick Cerqueira, Daniel Fata and Andreas Koliakoudakis at the beginng of the summer of 2011. What started as a backing band for Patrick Di Meo's solo career quickly turned into a brand spankin new awesome quartet from the heart of Montreal. From early on the band drew influences from Angels and Airwaves, 30 Seconds to Mars, U2 and other bands to write some of their hit singles such as "I'm Alive" and "Shine". The band began recording their EP "Love.Life.Sound" at Evermoor Audio in September 2011 and finished in less than 2 months to release it on November 11th, 2011 (they received a modest competition from Skyrim released the same day). They later returned to the studio in January 2012 to record more songs which included their single "Lay Down (Heartbeat)". The band saw the departure of their original drummer Andreas in May, in the end a mutual decision between the band and Andreas based on irreconciliable differences with regards to the direction of the band's music. Abigail wasted little time however and recruited guitarist Daniel Fata's cousin Angelo Fata as the new drummer. The band continued stromg throughout the summer of 2012 playing many shows as well as headlining two of them and winning a Battle of the Bands. In its year of activity, Abigail Calling as played alongside several well known bands such as Ten Second Epic, Brighter Brightest, The Dangerous Summer, Sparks the Rescue, Set it Off, We Were Sharks and more...
