A Blurred City Sight

On a rooftop west of downtown Chicago, three friends look out over the city. The skyline drives back the midnight sky with its orange glow as the sound of strummed guitars and hummed vocals are caught up in the summer wind. This is the birth of A Blurred City Sight.

Since the summer of 2010, A Blurred City Sight has been working hard to craft songs that are both catchy and artistic. The three current members, Gabe Abeyta, Nathan Whittenhall and Matt Latourelle all met while attending art school at Columbia College Chicago. After many months of collaboration and jam sessions, they decided to make it official, calling themselves A Blurred City Sight in reference to the inspiring urban landscape of Chicago. They quickly amassed a number of songs, which they practiced and refined over the summer. With some demos underway and a full-length album in their sights, they teamed up with their friends at the media company Painted Face, LLC to start recording. They are currently working on perfecting their debut album, titled "The Light Before the Day".

The album showcases the band's diverse skills, sounds and musical tastes. Songs range from raw, energetic rock to ambient, heartfelt pop. The lyrical content is equally interesting and diverse, with songs about superheroes, ninjas, the end of the world, love (of course!), and more. Layered guitars and flowing bass lines mix with irresistibly catchy vocal melodies to create a refreshing new sound that, combined with their romantic performances, is sure to tickle their audience's ears.
