Bio
Abnormality is a one of a kind female fronted violent hybrid of several genres of extreme music including metal, grindcore, and black metal. Mallika stands to upend the fans of extreme music with her vicious vocal attack not heard from the likes of her female front person counterparts within the genre. “Backed with aggressive, technical, unrelenting and forward thinking metal, Abnormality shatters the assumptions of novelty upon first listen” (Femme Metal WebZine)
With members hailing from such acts as Goratory, Ascendancy and Iranach, their collective experience pooled together to form a strong live act, working to earn respect within the underground metal scene, and along the way have shared a stage with the likes of Dying Fetus, Skinless, Malignancy, Circle of Dead Children and Mortal Decay among many others.
In May of 2007 Abnormality released its first demo, entitled simply 2007 Demo, a minimal-fills, nearly void of art, let the music speak for itself, straight to the point slab of extreme metal. Completely self-produced, engineered and financed, it was met with strong critic and fan response in its limited release. Some press coverage from this demo release include Abnormality being featured in the Novel “Metal Queens” published by Carnifax press, A Feature in the Femme Metal Webzine, positive reviews in Blabbermouth.net and MetallicumEncyclodeium, and a bonus song included in the music video game “Rock Band 2”.
In the fall of 2009 Abnormality will release its debut full length entitled “The Collective Calm of Mortal Obscurity”, a record that pushes their technical abilities and range of influences even further than previous recordings. With demand for the new release at high levels, this proves to be a giant step in the bands history, and with early positive feedback this record will not disappoint.
