Bio

ABOVEGROUND was formed six years ago by Ryan Blackmore who had a dream to create music that would fill a void he felt was present in the metal music industry. He struggled for years to find the "missing links" that would share the same dreams, desires and level of commitment that he had. He also wanted to find serious musicians who not only shared a common vision but would form a brotherhood that would last a lifetime. Musicians came and went but he was finally able to form that brotherhood with Christian Hargrove on guitar, Chance Hargrove on bass, who ironically happen to be brothers, Adam Rodriguez on guitar and John McClain on drums.

After spending several months working on originals ABOVEGROUND went into the studio to record their first demo. Although this was their first attempt at recording, the feedback they have gotten has been very encouraging.

While playing local venues in the Rio Grande Valley (where they are originally from) it took no time for ABOVEGROUND to establish a loyal fan base. Fans are pulled in by their unique mixture of presence, energy and hard core musical talent. The rapid success at gaining local attention earned them band of the month in March, 2004 with 91Productions.com, a local band promotion agency. The band has recently relocated to Austin, TX.

ABOVEGROUND will be going into the studio again soon to record their latest originals and they look forward to showing fans how much their music has evolved since they completed their first demo.
