Formed in 2010, Above Ground began in the Emerald City AKA Seattle. Starting out as a four piece and playing over 40 shows in their first year, they felt their sound needed something. So they made some changes until they found their current line-up that is now "Above Ground" !!! A very solid, talented 4pc with a very visual, high energy stage show. Their music will stick in your head for days!
As their fans have watched, listened and grown, word of mouth has started and the band has built a respectful following...Thank's to you guys!! Above Ground knew, when you put four seasoned musicians together that click as friends it shows on stage as well as in the music!
So, we are "Old School". We call ourselves 'Metal', because when we were teenagers, THIS WAS metal!! Our influences are drawn heavily from bands like, Maiden, Sabbath, Dio, Accept, Krokus, Wasp, C.O.C., early Metallica, Queensryche (early) and many local favorites from the day.... Forced Entry, Bitter End, Grunt Truck and many others! Today, we write what feels good to us. We write about, Shitty Relationships, Love, Hate, Drug Addiction, Recovery, Fantasies, Hope's and Dreams too. The same shit everyone writes about, we just say it OUR WAY!! Heavy and melodic at times, we tend to stay in the groove. THIS IS OUR METAL!! Hope you enjoy it and take something from it!!
