What others are saying...
"Heard them on 88.3. Great local band! One of the best I've heard in a long time. Above the Atlantic is a breath of fresh air with catchy, substantial lyrics, great guitar riffs and a lead singer with the voice of an angel. The lead singer is especially outstanding. I want to hear more!"

"This is so addicting, always one of the first things i listen to. I know matt and his band, and they are just as good live as on the record. If you have an opportunity to see them live i say go for it!"

Bio

Above the Atlantic first came into existence in October of 2009 with a simple goal in mind – to make creative, honest rock music that could be appreciated by indie lovers and radio junkies alike. Singer/guitarist Matt Martin grew up playing acoustic music in Atlanta, GA, but when he moved to the Cleveland area, he knew that he wanted to explore new musical horizons. After meeting bassist Robbie Bookshar and drummer Ricky Hamilton, he knew that great things were to come. The three guys quickly discovered an incredible chemistry and a love for making music together. Today, after being a band for just over a year, Above the Atlantic has released a 5-song EP and full-length record, all recorded under the guidance of producer Mike Brown at Lava Room Recording Studios. Though the band is young, they’ve quickly developed a unique sound, with each member contributing their own creativity to the songwriting process. Whatever your musical tastes, there’s a good chance you’ll find something to love about Above the Atlantic’s music, whether it be their energetic live shows, unique lyrics, memorable bass lines, or massive drum sounds. The band’s off to an incredibly exciting start; look for big things to come in the future.
