Bio

Formed in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California in late 2004, Absolution began when guitarist Chaz Leon joined forces with vocalist Dave Deroscher. Currently supporting the release of their debut CD ‘The Revelation Diaries’, the story of Absolution is a tale founded on desire, passion and an uncompromising vision to return technical skill and emotion back to the metal scene.

Months of early rehearsals led to numerous local shows and produced an early demo, which later led to the bands first official demo “The Remission of Sin”. The demo quickly garnered favorable reviews and acclaim by national and international media and fans alike. Highlighted by reviews in BWBK and Metal Maniacs, the demo was a good proving ground for the bands early career and opened the door the fans worldwide.

Absolution continued to play the local club scene for a few years, developing a reputation for an intense, in your face live show that showcased the bands raw energy. Later sharing the stage with such greats as Nevermore, Overkill, Paul Gilbert, David Ellefson's F5, Fueled by Fire, and many more the band was gaining the momentum it needed.

The band spent the right amount of time to get the right line-up and the right sound and the guys finally entered the studio again in late 2007 to record their first official album "The Revelation Diaries." The results are phenomenal. Recorded with a modest budget, the CD contains 12 songs and over one hour of music showcasing the bands talent, diversity, and songwriting skills. In an age where there are many talented metal bands, it takes something special to stand out. One listen to Absolution's unique approach to songwriting and the listener is convinced - these guys are for real.

Central to Absolution's sound is the riff. Songs like "Armageddon", "Mask of Liberty", "Erase", and "Reflections of Hate" are chalk full of classic riffing that calls out to the days when heavy metal guitar ruled the world. Absolution also proves that they can shred with the best of 'em, with Matt Schnieder and Chaz Leon laying down some scorching solos. Luis Arevalo delivers an amazing performance on the drums for the CD, but live Eric Jackson delivers some of the most energetic and hard hitting drumming you will ever see. Bassist Eric Chavez proves he can more than hold his own with masterful melodic bass lines. To top it all off is the versatile throat of singer Dave Deroscher. Dave barks with anger and fury as he delivers the message that Absolution are here to stay and ready to join the ranks of the best heavy metal bands around. Thoughtful lyrics prove that Absolution is a band that is not all brawn but have plenty of brains as well. This is a band with something to say as they clearly and emotionally address problems that are approaching a near out of control level in their beloved United States of America.

Indeed "The Revelation Diaries" is a stunning debut from a young band that is only just getting started. With this - their debut CD - Absolution prove that they are a band that can achieve that classic sound and take it into the modern era of heavy metal without compromising the passion, meaning and integrity that has consistently made heavy metal the purest form of art.
