Abstract INC. is a sextet that brings together musicians from Belgium and neighbouring countries. Musical boundaries are also being pushed through the compositions of guitarist Machiel Heremans. Despite the fairly traditional jazz line-up, the sextet creates an original and modern sound. The compositions are orchestrated in such a way that the various instruments are used with all their functions and the different sound colours are fully combined. For example, the two saxophonists often get an accompanying role or counterpoint is used. This combined with rich colours, guitar effects and expressive dynamics gives narrative music with a rough side.
