Abyss

We are Abyss, we are a Hard Rock/Metal band from Reading and Winchester. We have been together for about 2 years now and we are going strong. It all started when Ian, Nick, and Stephen formed ThreeGuysInABasment playing covers in basements. They realized they needed a Drummer and their good friend Alex just started to play so he became the drummer. They then got Steve to play keyboards for them and Alex came up with the name Abyss which fit great. Abyss started out playing at friends parties and competing in some battle of the bands and talent shows. In May of 2009 Abyss won a battle of the bands at the YMCA in Reading judged by members of the Dropkick Murpheys winning $100. Now they have been playing local shows with other upcoming bands and town fairs. They recently won yet another battle of the bands competition at Reading Memorial High School which qualified them for another battle hosted by Generation Cures of Children's Hospital. They came in second at this show and are now qualified for another battle at Patriot Place on June 6th. Some musical influences include Motley Crue, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Coheed & Cambria, AC/DC, and more. Abyss also has an epic arsenal of original music that is well liked by many. They hope to some day make it big but for now they will do anything they can to get a chance to play and get their name out there. Abyss shows are always a fun time and keep you on your feet doing something that is not sitting.
