"IAA SPOTLIGHT: GET TO KNOW - AC - ARIZONA'S HOTTEST STAR"

Adam Charles Hadsall, better known by his pseudonym, AC, is a young, new rapper hailing from Kansas City. His witty and lyrical style are the things that have led him to create a buzz, not only in Kansas City, but also when he made his move to the southwest in Phoenix, AZ.

After getting a serious start with rapping during his freshman year of high school while writing humorous metaphors and rhymes during his free time, AC evolved and honed in on his craft. He started working with other local rap artists during his college years in Emporia, Kansas. Teaming up with a few local rappers, he joined a group called Midwest Productions-Get Money Clique and by performing locally, he gained a strong following.

After earning his Master’s Degree, he delved into the Phoenix rap scene head first, meeting and collaborating with local artist Manish Menace.

With musical influences such as Jay-Z, Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli, Bruno Mars, Tech N9ne, and Rage Against the Machine, AC has respect for all genres of music and never limits himself when it comes to creating his own. His raw and intelligent style is what continues to set him apart from other artists.

“I write for the purpose of being lyrical, and ingenious. If you listen to my songs there are always clever punchlines and twisted metaphors, which isn’t easy to do,” he says.

Back in September 2012, he released his first music video for his song entitled “Heavy Hittaz” with TallCat Studios of Phoenix, AZ. He continues to be focused on investing in his career and building his fan base.

He believes, “Music and art can express anything I want if delivered properly, and that’s the easy part.”

IAA: What city and state are you from?

AC: Originally from Kansas City, Kansas, but currently reside in Phoenix, AZ.

IAA: What is your music background?

AC: My father was a musician and I grew up around local cover bands, 30 miles south of KC.

IAA: What inspired you to pursue music?

AC: I have always been artistic and found out at a young age that music could paint a better picture then what I could do on a canvas.

IAA: What are your songs about? (Themes)

AC: My music is about being lyrical. My themes are about what is going on in my life at that time.

IAA: Do you write your own music?

AC: Of course.

IAA: Who are your musical influences?

AC: Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli, Rage Against the Machine, Jay Z, Bob Marley, and many more. I listen to all genres of music and have a lot of respect for artists outside of rap.

IAA: How would you describe your music to people?

AC: Lyrical, intelligent, meaningful, and witty.

IAA: What makes you stand out from other artists?

AC: Rap is becoming more diverse. 90% of what I talk about is non-fiction; being white, not from a rough neighborhood but having seen some things, and the type of style I bring to the table.

IAA: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

AC: I am finishing up my mix-tape, “Solo Therapy,” currently working on my EP titled Creationism, and consistently doing shows around the Phoenix area.

IAA: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

AC: I have big goals but I feel that if you put in hard work anything is possible. I see myself being an artist in the music industry, making hits after hits, and investing my fortune in a clothing line. I have always wanted my own clothing line, so owning and operating that and performing my music.

IAA: How can your fans access your music and contact you?

AC: I am currently in the process of building my website but my music can be accessed on:

Bio

Adam Charles Hadsall, better known by his pseudonym, AC, was surprised when people started taking notice in his music. Being a young, new rapper hailing from Kansas City, AC’s witty and lyrical style are the things that have led him to create a buzz, not only in Kansas City, but also when he made his move to the southwest in Phoenix, AZ.
AC started his rap career during his freshman year of high school in a small town south of Kansas City called Paola, writing humorous metaphors and rhymes during his free time. Years later, he had honed in on his craft and started working with other local rap artist during his college years in Emporia, Kansas. AC teamed up with these local rappers to create a group, “Midwest Productions-Get Money Clique “, which consisted of five artist, A. Keys, Goo Punch, Bonez, Bake the Rippa, and of course, AC. He would perform locally with his fellow artists, creating a following that always encouraged new and creative music. Shortly after his years in undergrad, AC moved to Phoenix, early 2012 to finish his Master’s Degree. He started delving into the Phoenix rap scene head first, meeting and collaborating with local artist Manish Menace.
AC’s raw and intelligent style is what continues to set him apart from other artists. He is influenced strongly by his family, friends, and fans as well as artist ranging from Jay-Z, Immortal Technique, and Talib Kweli, to Bruno Mars, Tech N9ne, and Rage against the Machine. “I write for the purpose of being lyrical, and ingenious. If you listen to my songs there are always clever Punchlines and twisted metaphors, which isn’t easy to do.”
AC’s move to Phoenix also spawned a relationship with TallCat Studios, where he shot his first music video for his song entitled ‘Heavy Hittaz’. The video was released September 2012 and continues to get rave reviews from fans and critics. AC is working on wrapping up his mix tape, ‘Solo Therapy’ which is set to be released during the last quarter of 2012. The mix tape is an all-encompassing story of AC and the balance between business and pleasure when it comes to being in entertainment. “I am not only working on ‘Solo Therapy’ but I am also working on my new EP album, which will be released early 2013.”
AC had always taken rapping and making songs as a way to have fun, relieve stress, and bring joy to others through his music. Investing in his career and continually building his fan base are what he is focused on. The ultimate goal with these next releases is to take the necessary steps to make a living doing what he loves, making music. “Music and Art can express anything I want if delivered properly, and that’s the easy part.”
