Bio
Accordi Disaccordi is a very active Italian project both on the national and international scenes.
The band, a trio formed in 2012, is
composed by the two founders Alessandro Di Virgilio and Dario
Berlucchi on guitars and Elia Lasorsa on doublebass. They’re based
on a gipsy jazz repertoire, presenting typical national and
international classics from the best 1930s’ music in a modern vein.
Following the same gipsy style, they write their own numbers and rearrangements of modern songs, even pop and not strictly jazz, according to a personal interpretation that they themselves like to call "hot Italian swing", taking constant inspiration from the style of the popular guitarist Django Reinhardt.
They have released two albums,
"Bouncing Vibes" in 2013 and "Swing Avenue" in
2015, both produced and distributed by the band itself. These two
works represent the best of their repertoire and their new
productions. The first album is entirely played as a trio, while the
second one also includes the presence, in some songs, of a cello, a
saxophone (played by Emanuele Cisi) and a clarinet (played by Giacomo
Smith).
During the last tour, they collected
many other live collaborations with artists like Gonzalo Bergara,
Adrien Moignard, Jérémie Arranger, Matt Holborn and many other
European and worldwide jazz musicians.
In just three years they have played in
more than 300 gigs, with the participation in the 2015 edition of
Umbria Jazz Festival (opening the gigs of Paolo Conte, Paolo Fresu,
Chick Corea & Herbie Hancock, Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga,
Caetano Veloso & Gilberto Gil), in three editions of the Turin
Jazz Festival, in the 2015 edition of the Festival Django Reinhardt
in Samois-sur-Seine and in the Moscow Jazz Festival in 2014 and 2015.
They also played in Russia in other 70 different cities and venues, during three different tours (one still in progress), usually in local jazz clubs and important theaters, almost always sold out, counting about 20.000 enthusiastic fans.
All the other 200 gigs are distributed
among Italy, England, Germany and Belgium, with street performances,
private events and numerous stages in prestigious locations such as
the Jazz Club in Turin, the Teatro Vittoria in Turin, the Cantina
Bentivoglio in Bologna, the 12a Club in Cambridge and the Le
QuecumBar in London, one of the best manouche venues in UK.
In the next few months they will
participate to the Pennabilli Django Festival 2015, to the Umbria
Jazz Winter Festival 2015 in Orvieto and to the Bentivoglio Manouche
Festival 2016 in Bologna.
In these three years they have also
collected an amazing sales success, with both CDs reprinted,
receiving great feedback both by critics and professionals, who
indicate them as young promise of Italian and European swing.
