"Artist of The Month"

Artist of the Month Award: MAY, 2017 goes to: AceinChrist

When we came across AceinChrist’s music we knew it was something special. The heartfelt lyrics and spiritual meaning behind the songs are powerful, provacative and meaningful. In a age in which most young aspiring Hip Hop artists have surrendered to the false pretensis of Hip Hop and speak about the flash and self destructive lifestyles it was a breath of fresh air to hear a young man speak about a positive, uplifting and inspiring message. It is for this reason we have selectd Aceinchrist as the NHH Artist of the Month for the Month of May. of the year 2017.

What is your background? tell us where you grew up and some information about your upbringing/experiences as a youth:
I was born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL . It was hard growing up in my city, it was the Gangstas and Thugs Era not everybody has heard about this but this is what my city is most known for. Basically, there were these videos being made showing all the violence, guns, drugs, and money in my city. It became popular and everyone wanted to put on to be in these videos. I used to get jumped everyday, and when I say everyday I really mean EVERYDAY! I never wanted to be gangster or a thug as a child, but my environment gave me no choice, and before I knew it I bought a gun to protect myself it seemed like it was the only way to gain respect in my city and I started hanging out with all the older guys in my neighborhood I was about 11 or 12 at the time and I decided to leave all the younger kids alone, from that point all my friends were 17, 18, 20, even 30.

At what moment did you know that music was part of your life and what feelings did you have towards making an active impact with your music?
Music isn’t just a part of my life, music is my life. I started producing my own music from home in 4th grade with Acid Pro using the loop CD’s to make my own beats. I performed with my homeboy James at our 5th grade graduation ceremony, and from that moment I fell in love with the stage and I never turned back. For most of my music career I must admit there wasn’t much positivity in it but that was due to my upbringing that no child should ever have to go through. I had to learn the hard way that there was nothing to the lifestyle I was living the money, the jewelry, the girls none of it could truly satisfy me. During the three years I spent in the Florida Department of Corrections my eyes were opened and I realized that only God can satisfy you and be with you through it all. On October, 14 , 2015 I was baptized and committed not only my life, but my music to Christ. That was my transformaton from The Official Lil Ace to AceinChrist. Now my music has a story, the journey and experiences I went through and I’m sharing my story to encourage people that through it all the good and the bad, It Was All Apart of God’s Plan.

What artists inspired/influences you and if you could collaborate with any artist (alive or passed) who would it be and why?
To be honest to a certain extent all successful artist inspire me. When I see someone else being successful in a certain area it inspires me because I have the mentality that anything someone else can do I can do also. My dad always told me that noone can beat you at being you. So I respect the grind and hardwork people put in to get to where they are and it inspires me to keep going and just be me. Collaboration? uhm , right now I’m going to say Tasha Cobbs why because she has a beautiful voice and she is using her talent for the Glory of God and it takes committment and boldness to be different, and that says alot about her character.

What do you think about the current state of hip hop/mainstream music?
I think that alot of these hip hop artists who grew up in the Ghetto or still live there should do a better job of inspiring those that listen to them to better themeselves. It’s nothing wrong with letting people know where you came from and what you’ve been through but when you have the opportuninty to reach people I believe you should make the most out of it and help them overcome their enviroment rather than help them fall into it.
Currently, what projects do you have in the works that you are most excited about?
I’m most excited about my first album under my new name AceinChrist called “It Was All Apart of God’s Plan”. This album tells the story of my transformation from The Official Lil Ace to AceinChrist. - Nowhiphop.com

"Upcoming Singles with CSP Music Group"

At the young age of just 10, when most boys his age were playing sports, eyeing pretty young girls, or bullying through long lines to snatch up the latest Jordan’s, Lawrence was strapped, hustling the neighborhood, and armed with his own gun. (He was raised in what has been nationally recognized in West Palm Beach, FL as the gangsters and thugs era because of the overwhelming presence of drugs and violence in the community.) Just one Hour after the conclusion of his 21stbirthday, he was celebrating that milestone as just another stat in the system, sentenced to three years prison “time” on charges ranging from counterfeit bills, to concealed firearms, and violation of probation. (no drug charges)

That was his Lesson!

“Imagine getting yelled at/ And you gotta work for free/ Surrounded by some brick walls/ And blue is all you see/ I felt like it was over/ … I took it like soldier…”, he sings.

Little did he know that “time” would be the catalyst to set him on course in seeking Jesus as his Savior. Little did he know that “time” would gather his thoughts from the streets to recognize his gift in music;

Little did he know that “time” would pave the way and lead him on a path to establish his personal relationship with his Higher power - GOD. Bringing to light an understanding of the motto “in order to get to something you have to go through something.

And he did!

This is the Blessing!

Today, AceinChristuses his gift in voice as he attests to life’s challenges, from his downfalls and sorrow, to his intervention and redemption, on the seriously hip, faith-based Christian release of his debut single release, “True Story.”The praise song paints a picture of his conversion from crime to faith--and making it out.

The track, “Call Me Crazy,”is a making believers out of non-believers, up-tempo praise song, that takes you on a roller-coaster ride, as he tells his story about how prison mates labeled him as crazy, seeing him humming down penitentiary halls, as he worshipped in the prison church, singing faith-based songs, musically connecting to his Higher power. On the sing-along, AceinChristbreaks down on the beats, as sings on about his walk in Christ:

”You can call me crazy Ima praise em, he amazing… / But gon give em praise/ I gave my life my Christ And now I’m seeing better days/ It ain’t perfect but I know that he gon make a way/He bout his business he ain’t finna play/The truth is sometimes you gon have to wait But he still on time he ain’t never late.”

When asked, if not doing music, what would had been his other career choice, AceinChristconfesses, “I had career aspirations, but I would’ve been dead from the streets.” He also admits that his true commitment to Christ has only began about 4 years ago, but can boast in the changing power of Christ about his newfound change, as he nears the completion of his studies in receiving a Bachelors in Business Management degree from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA.

Reminding himself, “I’m not the man I could be, I’m not the man I should be, but thank God I’m not the man I used to be.” Simply, There’s Nothing Wrong With Falling Down,

As Long As You Can Look UP,

If You Can Look Up You Can GET UP
