Bio

Derrick Andre Abram Jr. (Born December 4, 1991) Known by his stage name AceKidd, is a American rapper from Houston, Texas. Raised by a primarily by a single mother (Shandra Lemons) Abram grew up in a North Eastern neighborhood of Houston, TX known as Greenspoint. There he attended local Thomas Elementary and excelled in academics. Due to academic success, and an increase in the crime rate in the area, his mother remarried and moved the family to Humble, TX. There Abram would attend Chester W. Nimitz High School, where he would later go on to meet future friends, and collaborators La'Mark Holland, and Donte Williams (Sir Splexxx). After graduating Abram went on to attend The University of Texas At San Antonio, where he would hone his skills in writing, returning home after just a year and joining Holland and Williams under the moniker Popularity Over Rated (P.O.R.) in April 2012. Abram would go on and record music with the trio appearing on several projects, with both local and national artist before releasing his own debut project on April 26, 2014 dubbed "Good Intentions". The mixtape was met with mixed reviews, due to his Neo Houston sound, inspired by a blend of both local UGK and The Ghetto Boys as well as Atlantan rap duo OutKast and Childish Gambino. Since the mixtape's release Abram has gone on to perform along side Williams at various events such as the Scope Show (x4), ScopeXSW (x1), and a unofficial SXSW show at the Karma Lounge opening for New Orleans's rapper D1. Abram has also enjoyed a successful solo run performing at The Meeting Of Styles both times they were hosted in Houston. Currently Abram is working on an untitled follow up project releasing summer 2015, and has released "Counting Stars" (prod. Tony Fadd) it's first single.
