Achilifunk & Ensemble Taller de Músics

Four gipsies through and through selected from the new Catalan RUMBA generation make up the core of the band – let’s call them the ACHILIS:
SAM ‘MOSKETON’ is at the head. An ex-member of Papawa, this multifaceted artist cut his teeth with film and a thousand recordings.
One of the best ventilator guitarist on the planet.

MIQUEL ‘MUCHACHO’ is another gipsy youngster and flamenco guitar virtuoso, right-hand man to Joan Garriga in La Troba Kung-fú and another of the rising stars of Catalan rumba.

JACK TARRADELLAS, is a talented student at the Taller de Músics with dazzling musical intuition. An artist with a bright future.

RAMBO. A percussion monster who usually accompanies Sabor de Gràcia and Patriarcas de la Rumba. He combines youth, talent and irrepressible happiness on stage

The FUNKS:
PACO ‘MANTECAO’ MANZANARES He combines the warm sound of vintage keyboards (Hammond, Rhodes) with academic panache and groove funk
learnt during his long stays at the Tony Manero Foundation, Discoinferno and Dr Calypso.

LALO LOPEZ. If there’s one artist who defines the word ‘funk’in Europe, it’s Lalo. His sheer stage presence says it all. An ideologist
from the Tony Manero Foundation and author of most of the tracks on his five records, Lalo makes it all look so easy and his guitar stamps the mark of funk drive and passion on the band. He’s another of the pillars of the combo and one hell of an artist.

ISAAC COLL on bass. The engine of the Achilifunk Band demands fresh blood and virtuosity at the service of the Achilis. This promising
bassist trained at the Taller de Músics and always offers staunch support.

MARCO LOSADA on drums. The second young, impulsive piece to come from the Taller to build the solid foundations underpinning
all the musical infrastructure created for this project. He’s the backbone to the funk side.
