Bio

The band plays traditional and contemporary Roots music of the Celtic nations,  incorporating their own unique high-energy arrangements.  They have good stage presence and interact with the audience.  From the Burren to the Highlands to Appalachia, they find the best songs and tunes, then add their own unique arrangements.  From slow airs to driving jigs & reels, to lilting slip jigs, to soulful love songs and ballads.

They are comfortable on a large stage, having performed at a number of larger festivals, including multiple years at Celtic Classic, Maryland Irish Festival, Fayetteville International Festival and the Endless Mountain Music Festival.  And they have performed at many, many smaller festivals.  They band has performed from Fayetteville, NC, to Montreal, QC, but are available to travel farther.  You can see what other festivals they have played on their venue list at https://www.acrossthepondmusic.com/venues .

Primary instrumentation is fiddle, whistles, guitar & bodhran.  This 3-piece band often adds award-winning female vocalist Marilyn Dolly and Champion-level Irish dancer Emily Warren to their festival shows.

After the release of their first CD, Kid on the Mountain, things began to happen.  The band was named in the Top 20 Celtic Folk Bands World-wide for 2014 by Marc Gunn of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast.  They were named co-winners of the Texas Scots Talent Competition 2015.  Their song 'I Know My Love' was voted 'Best of Contemporary' for 2015 and induction into the Celtic Radio Hall of Fame, and another track nominated Best Traditional.  The album was entered into the Traditional Irish Music Archives in Dublin, Ireland.  Across the Pond released their second CD, Little Beggarman in October, 2019, and believe it Is much better than their debut album.
