Bio

Actiondale truly began as two high school friends writing crummy songs about girls in a basement in Jersey during the winter of 2002. They weren’t great musicians and weren’t great songwriters, but they loved making music, so they kept playing, kept writing and got better. After a year apart playing in other bands, they were joined by another good friend, and picked up where they had left off. Through a long list of different names, different songs, and a revolving door behind the drum set, they created a great repertoire, recorded a great LP (Welcome to Actiondale, 2006) and began playing shows throughout the Northeast. Now with a complete band, a strong following, and the same love for writing music that they started with, Actiondale is poised to take themselves to the next level. So stick around, you may enjoy it.

Actiondale draws on a wide variety of influences such as The Pixies, Radiohead and Cream, however, they are most strongly influenced by modern alternative acts, notably Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, and the Alkaline Trio. Many songs have a catchy, pop-punk feel with big guitar hooks and sing-a-long choruses, while others have an edgier, alternative sound. Regardless, the lyrics quickly draw in audiences with their sometimes brutal honesty and candor, while the music provides the emotional context in which to root the stories told in the songs.

Actiondale is quickly gaining popularity in the New York/New Jersey music scene as well as increasing album sales nationally. Actiondale has played shows in a variety of venues in New York City and New Jersey. Notably, they have performed at the Stone Pony in New Jersey, The Continental and The Knitting Factory in NYC and a major college show at Drew University.
