A3 was started in 2000 with a few kids jamming around on random instruments. The lineup was changed in 2002 with the replacement of former drummer, Josh Jaynes, with current drummer, Tony Kirk. Later in 2003, Lead Guitar player, Pat Kavanagh was added to the band for some extra spice. Our influences include the Dave Matthews Band, U2, Counting Crows, Journey, John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Joshua Redman, Pink Floyd, Spymob and Jimmy Buffett. We're quite different from most bands nowadays, in the sense that every one of our songs has a distinct and original sound to it. Virtually every song comes from a different genre and a different infulence. Our song "Until the Night" sounds like something that could come off a Dave Matthews Band cd, where our song "Traffic" sounds like it could have come off an old Sting and The Police LP. We can perform in a punk club and have a harder rock sound, and we can also play at a coffee shop and have a chilled, sound with lengthy jams. We adapt to where we play, and every time, come away feeling like it was the best show we've ever played.
