"Adahmo’s stoked by Blues Busking Win"

Adamo Noiosi, a musician on a mission, travelled
from Far North Queensland to experience Byron, and
the blues and roots festival. Adamo dreamt of one day
playing at the fest with artists like John Butler, Harry
Manx, Franti, and Xavier Rudd.
Through a connection made with another muso ‘Jim’
at a gig he played at the Yellow Flower, Adamo entered
the King of the Byron Blues Buskers comp, the winner
being able to play the Juke Joint at the fest Adamo
played for two hours at Railway Park.... and won!
‘When I heard my name announced I looked up at
the stars and everything spun, I couldn’t believe it!’
Adamo did an hour set at the juke joint on the
Monday and that night in the middle of watching
Burning Spear play, he had an urge to go to the VIP tent
hoping to see John Butler. On his arrival John and his
wife were the only ones in the back of the tent. Adamo
told John, ‘Your show was an angelic moment for me.’
Of all the people in the industry john is the one
musician that Adamo would like to jam with in the
future.
Adamo spent the rest of the night in the VIP tent and
rubbed shoulders with fellow musos and festival
organisers, and wandered backstage for a true feel of
the fest: ‘A dream comes true.’
That evening after receiving a VIP invite to l’academie
lounge bar he spent the evening with Michael Franti,
and many other artists. For the next few nights Adamo
and Franti met up at l’academie and ended up playing
each other some of their originals until 4am.
‘This has been a springboard for my career,’ said
Adamo, ‘I have had two interviews on Bay FM, where I
played live and ran a few recorded tracks, and have gigs
booked at Belongil beach café, and jamming with Tone
Broker from Couchfunk. I have met so many amazing
people here in Byron.’
Adamo is going to relocate to the Bay to record his
second album, as soon as he goes back home and sells
his music shop.
‘I would like to thank Sandy from Cocomangas who
organised the competition and all of the people who
believe in me.

Bio

The journey begins in a magical bay far far away.No not Byron Bay
(Bingil Bay) in Far North Queensland.A paradise lost except for the lucky few.
Music has sprung forth from the inspiration of living in such a beautiful place.
A sound that blends the deep roots of the Rainforest ,
the serentiy of the Northern ocean and the ethereal realm of the sky into his own unique style.

Adahmo has been playing his music around this region of Australia for
over 15 years and has aslo strayed away to the netherworlds every now and
then over the years. His favourite home away from home is another bay.
Yes it is Byron Bay , where he won the "King of the Byron Bay Blues Buskers"
competition in 2004 and hence played at the (Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival)
This was a big boost for Adahmo giving him the chance of a life time to meet some
major recording artists, people in the industry and to hang out with the a
great new family of friends in Byron Bay. (As well as getting to jam with Michael Franti)

Adahmo has played in Bands over the years mostly with his Brothers
Dean and Pauly but has been doing solo shows for the past seven years
recently adding a kick drum and snare played with his feet , some slide guitar
and Mandolin.

After being down at the blues festival this year as a judge for the same competition he had won
in 2004 and hearing the big sound of acts like (David Gray , Pete Murray and the like) he decided that
it was time to get back in to the band sound and started to finish his latest cd which he has
recorded himself as a full band with Drums / Bass / Guitars / Mandolin / Didjeridoo.

Songs are currently being Mixed By Doug Brady
(4 times Aria engineer of the year award winner)
And mastered by Martin Pullan of Edensound in Melbourne.

The cd is called "COMPREHENSION" and will be released in time for christmas.

Adahmo will be touring with his brothers and long time friend Levent on the drums at the end of January 2007.
