Bio
Adalia Tara is a singer / songwriter from Montgomery County, Maryland. She first began getting recognition in 2007 while performing with Adam Kiley as the duo Adalia and Adam, performing at such places as The Common Grounds Café and The Asylum in Washington, D.C. Since then she has been working on her own music.
Adalia’s influences are wide ranging from The Clash to Regina Spektor to Portishead to Wilco. She has a great passion for singing, composing and recording which is strongly evident in the relaxed and confident sound of her recorded works.
When asked what she hoped to achieve with her music she said “I want to create change in the world through compassionate music. I believe that the message is the most important aspect of music. My underlying intention is to be of benefit in the world, to give back, to speak out against war, intolerance, hate, to learn to love with a non-conditional eye, and to truly work hard for the sake of all sentient beings.”
Currently Adalia is furthering her education studying at Berkley College concentrating on composing. In addition she is working on another musical project with Washington D.C. based artists Adam Kiley and Doug Bielmeier.
