Adam Redecker

I write and sing my own, original songs. They are rooted in everything that has made up my life thus far: Family, good country music, Christian values, hard work, the outdoors, the love of a good woman, loss of loved ones, and just life in general as it looks from the Ozarks of Missouri. My influences spread throughout several genres, including Ted Nugent, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jim Croce, and James Taylor, but are more focused in traditional country music. George Jones, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Chris Ledoux, Garth Brooks, Alabama, and many others have been major influences on my songs, and the way I approach my music.
I look first at whether or not I'm writing and singing from the heart. I may never sell one of my songs, or hear it on the radio... and that's just fine by me. My goal is to write and sing songs that are true to life, the genre, and have meaning to me. I think that is what sets me apart from other writers/singers.
I grew up listening to and singing along with great country music. My grandpa turned me on to George Jones about the time I learned to walk, and I've loved him, and others like him, ever since. When I got to college, at age 18, I decided to try to put that old six-string in the corner to some use. I'd been in a band during my high school years, but played drums. Once I picked up the guitar and started learning some chords, putting my own words to them just came naturally. I molded what I was feeling, or what I thought about certain goings-on into songs. I felt that I had a nack for it, and have been writing and singing my own brand of acoustic country songs for about 7 years now.
