It all began in the basement of a Mississauga home back in 1996. Thats when Derek Lathrop decided to use all his band experience to form his own band, and adams rib was born! SCENES FROM A CORNER STORE, the debut effort, was released in 1997. The band promptly hit the road and spent the next two years touring Canada.

The road experience definitely provided inspiration for the next record, so in January of 1999, adams rib convened once again in the Mississauga home and go to work on the next release, NEVADA, which was released in May of 1999. The road warriors knew they needed to hit the highway, and the band got to work. This tour saw the band sharing the stage with Santana and Sting. They also did the festival circuit, performing at Canadian Music Week, and NXNE.

Through the years, adams rib have toured Canada numerous times, sharing the bill with Stevie Nicks, Nickelback, Judas Priest, Loverboy, Goo Goo Dolls, Counting Crows, and the Allman Brothers, just to name a few. They also performed in Chile in 2009! These guys are true road warriors, and you can be sure their experiences have inspired many a tune.

2012 ushered in a compilation from Derek and company the mix tapes a collection of the bands most requested songs. The lead off single, Free Music is one of the bands most requested tunes and was released to radio in June. The single hit the top 100 on the Mediabase Rock charts.Adams rib has scored several charting singles in Canada since it began in 1997.

Derek has recently completed chameleon the bands 10 th recording of new material. Recorded between 2008-2012 in Derek's home studio and mixed in Nashville by long time friend Mike Krompass (Pink, Jordan Knight, Smashmouth). The new recording is a soulful blend of world music and rock as only adams rib can make it. The band will tour the remainder of 2013 promoting the release, which will be available in May of 2013.
