The story:
The beginning of Adam Wheatley's music ministry was unexpected, to say the least. Working as a youth ministry intern while in college, Adam was asked to lead his students in worship one Sunday night. Although Adam had very limited experience with “praise and worship” music, he would soon understand the power with which God could work through this style of music and would embrace it fully. Though he would continue working in youth ministry for years after this experience, it was clear that music was the way that Adam could best serve the Church - both locally and globally.

In the summer of 2003 Adam moved to Collierville, TN, just outside of Memphis. There he worked in the youth ministry before eventually moving into the position of worship leader for his church. It was during these years that Adam would grow in his sense of leading God's people into His presence through worship as well as writing his own songs as a response to his own journey through faith and life.

Adam also soon discovered songwriters such as Andrew Peterson, Derek Webb, and Andrew Osenga - artists who wrote about their belief in Christ and their convictions, even if it wasn't always pretty. It was then that Adam began to write songs of his own. Not only "worship" songs, but songs about God and life, and how the two are intermingled. "I knew that God was bigger than what I was hearing on the radio", says Adam, "that He was also present through love and heartbreak, victories and tragedies, and the chaos and confusion of everyday life." These songs eventually became his 2007 debut release "Bring the Morning, Bring the Sun", an album written around the theme of God's forgiving grace.

After touring throughout the southeast, Adam moved to Nashville, TN in the fall of 2008 to serve as the worship leader for a new church plant, and to give greater focus to his music ministry. He soon became friends with many of his musical role models including Andrew Osenga (Caedmon's Call, The Normals) who would then engineer and produce Adam's second record, a 6 song EP titled "Moon Turns Red" released in 2009. A third record, "Beauty In the Breaking Down", is due out in the Spring of 2011.

Adam has been blessed to to share the stage with incredible artists, authors, and speakers such as Brandon Heath, Andrew Peterson, Andrew Osenga (Caedmon's Call), Michael Boggs (FFH), and Shane Claiborne.

Today, the songwriting never ends—especially as he continues to lead worship and perform songs about the spiritual lessons God teaches him along the way. "Each song I write serves as a reminder of his love and the promises He gives us, whether it's through His provision or presence. The way that plays out in our lives is simple—we love Him back and we love others."

Adam's ministry is designed as both a concert and a teaching time, as he introduces each song by sharing the lessons that he has been taught (and is being taught) on his journey with God. The emphasis of his ministry is inspired by 1 John 3:18, challenging students to let "love speak louder" through their hands and feet, by being the body of Christ, in order to meet the needs of the people in their community and beyond.
