"A Day To Remember- Homesick"

Two years ago A Day To Remember surprised me with their album ‘For Those Who Have Heart’. The band combines pop punk with mosh parts and metalcore, which is a pretty far fetched combination. But it worked out well, so the band continued in exactly the same style for their new record ‘Homesick’. Maybe that’s the reason I’m not very enthusiastic about this new release: the band does exactly the same. It’s not like they show progression or you can tell that they became better musicians over the last two years. In fact, although ‘The Downfall Of Us All’ is a pretty powerful opening track, I kind of miss the energy that their previous record had. The music is even slicker this time. Even when a song starts off powerful, like ‘Mr. Highway’s Thinking About The End’, the pop punk kicks in and takes the energy out. On their previous record, there were some pretty cool pop punk parts as well, but those didn’t improve apparently. ‘Homesick’ is still an okay record, but I expected more of it. - David

"What Separates Me From You"

A Day To Remember have catapulted themselves into a new sort of hardcore with the release of their second album For Those Who Have Heart. Their blend of poppunk and moshparts worked for some reason and since then they have become one of my guilty pleasures.

This new record What Separates Me From You is already their fourth record and will just increase their popularity. Opener Sticks & Bricks have all the ingredients that got them to where they are right now. The heavy breaks slide into the extremely poppy and catchy chorus, you just want to sing along from the first spins. Jeremy McKinnon proves himself one of the best vocalists around for the moment.

A Day To Remember is not re-inventing themselves with this record, but songs like All I Want or It's Better Off This Way are just great punkrock anthems. It's not as shocking or refreshing as when they released For Those Who Have Heart, but this is still an album that has quality in it. - Maarten

"A Day To Remember"

It would be almost too easy and obvious to describe A Day To Remember as the creators of one of the unforgettable rock albums of 2007, but that wouldn’t make it any less true. Hailing from Ocala, Florida, the five members of A Day To Remember have crafted a unique blend of what can best be called “pop-mosh”—a potent combination of ultra-high energy and tart-sweet melodies. You can hear the melodic chaos in its full glory on For Those Who Have Heart, their debut album on Victory Records. - ASICE

"MTV PUSH Artist Of The Week: A Day To Remember"

"The result was their highest-charting album to date, positioning the group as leaders in the metalcore movement."

Florida punk-pop/metalcore quintet A Day to Remember have already shown us they can stand up to bullies, but as their MTV PUSH Artist of the Week videos below demonstrate, there's much more to A Day To Remember than just courage. After releasing their debut album, And Their Name Was Treason, independently in 2005, the group was quickly scooped up by emo/hard-core label Victory Records, who released the band's subsequent albums. Last year's What Separates Me From You, the group's fourth album, deftly blended emo, metalcore and punk. - MTV- Jason Newman
