Biography

Back in 1998, London-born Lu and James got together for the first time and started to develop what was soon to become the raw and catchy sound of Addicted first days. Three more musicians joined the band in their bunker/rehearsal space. With a guitarist a bassist and drummer, Addicted was born, a creation determined to prove themselves and match the heavyweights of modern rock n roll.

In 2000 the first demo was produced: four original songs written in English and recorded in Bergamo near Milan in Italy. They received great reviews with which to progress as a band and in 2003 two videos “Born Famous” and “Mad Guy” were recorded and releases as the band played their first gigs outside of Italy, rocking the stages of Spice of Life and the famous Art Café in London. This whistle stop tour turned the band in to a rapid response unit of kick ass rock vocals and a killer riff set.

Convinced that being different is a badge to wear with pride, Addicted rely upon their live shows as a calling card to anyone and everyone who will listen to the passion that can only come from the Latin lifeblood of the band: Music, escapism and a real will to be wild! In four years, Addicted have gone from regular gigs in Bergamo to bigger clubs like Rolling Stone and the Live Club in Milan assuring a good solid fan base near and far to get out to. And with a line-up of such diverse and interesting characters such as Brian the drummer, a self-styled guru in the ways of rock, this guy’s alter-ego is Brian Johnson in Italy’s No1 AC/DC tribute band! It’s damning proof that something’s gotta happen…

In February 2004 the album “Start the Fire” was released: 8 tracks came together during the London dates and the road trips that ensued. Following the reviews of the album this marked the turning point in Addicted career to date. In support of the album release that year the boys took on Heineken’s Jammin’ Festival in Imola as the openers at Italy’s biggest summer festival and in August of the same year the band performed at Rothenburg during the wet and muddy Taubertal Open Air Festival playing to a totally new and untouched fan base. “We gave 4 fans a t-shirt each” says Lu, “after the rain stopped and gave way to sunshine, we saw these 4 guys surrounded by dirty bodies from the rain before wearing these bright white t-shirts. It was an awesome gig.” In 2005 the band changes formation and direction and by early 2006 start playing regular London gigs in venues such as the Bull and Gate and the Carling Academy. The sound has matured and the songs have reached a new level: Addicted are now a band that is ready to be reasoned with!

Lies Kept You Alive

Written By: Addicted

You hide from me, not to see
All that’s left of your shattered dreams
And you don’t need no more lies, you can work it out
Yeah I know they kept you alive but the truth is out
You have just got to..

Cutting up, razor sharp
You built your home on a tornado’s path
And you don’t need no more lies, you can work it out
Yeah I know they kept you alive but the truth is out
You have just got to let go, in a world that already knows

No you don’t need no more, you know it’s over
And it’s time to kill those lies, you can work it out
I know they kept you alive but the truth is out.

Holding Back

Written By: Addicted

Are you the one that stole his sun?
Are you the one that stole his sun?
Waiting for a sign
Do you need someone to tell if it’s right?
There’s no maybe, you don’t like
me to put my big mouth in things you want to keep inside

and you’ve been holding back all this time
and I don’t want to leave you behind

Isn’t it easy, to you loose your mind
when you set your sight on things you should push aside
This is the best way I have to try
And show you you’re the only one that shines

and you’ve been holding back all this time
and I don’t want to leave you behind

Waiting for a sign,
You don’t need no one to tell you if it’s right
Yeah maybe, we’ll say goodbye
But we always keep what we have got inside
Are you the one that stole his sun?
Are you the one that stole his sun?

You’ve been holding back, been holding back been holding,
You’ve been holding back, been holding back been holding,
You have got to let go, you have got to let go.

Fake

Written By: Addicted

They say you’re not supposed to like that stuff
You’re not supposed to have more than enough
You’re not supposed to dress like that
Come on now you’ve got to react
They’re fake, they’re fake

What happens when you use their lies
To feed the truth that builds your mind?
The pills you take, the novocaine
You’re sleeping while you’re wide awake
They’re fake… they’re fake…

You’re giving in and you feel like a wise man going insane
You’re giving in and you feel like your last chance was yesterday

They don’t deserve to keep what they’ve got
Somehow this shit has to stop
You never get back what they take
but at least you had something to say
They’re fake…they’re fake…

You’re giving in and you feel like a wise man going insane
You’re giving in and you feel like your last chance was yesterday
Don’t you want to know how it goes?
Don’t you want to know if it shows?

Out of time

Written By: Addicted

Why does it always come down to this,
why can’t we go back and be like those kids,
they don’t care if they’re right, it’s always the first time

It’s not like I’m afraid to risk,
I’d bargain my life if that’s what it takes,
But we both know that it’s gone, we lost it long ago

We’re out of time…we’re out of time

I’m getting tired and it feels like work,
Lies, love and laughter is all I’ve got,
And you don’t want that from me, that’s really not what you need

Have you ever thought of how hard it can be,
To be rowing a boat when you’re lost at sea
And you’re nowhere to be found but you’ve got your feet on solid ground

We’re out of time… we’re out of time

Save me mama, save me tonight,
Save me mama, save my life
I’ve tried too hard to many times and I can feel the cracks in my mind
Oh they won’t go away they’re pumping the blood in my veins

Tell me baby can’t you see, no, love won’t rescue me,
It’s for the good ones, we’re the bad ones
We want peace but we want to keep our guns

There won’t be no tears in your eyes baby,
We’ve still got both our souls to redeem
And I don’t know if I’m right, it would be the first time

We’re out of time… we’re out of time

Save me mama, save me tonight,
Save me mama, save my life
I’ve tried too hard to many times and I can feel the cracks in my mind.
Oh they won’t go away they’re pumping the blood in my veins.

Electricity

Written By: Addicted

Neon signs, blind the eye,
As we hide in a crowded square
Hundreds of people, nothing to share

I can’t define what it is that ain’t right
But your face is always haunting me
The cure comes with the disease

You don’t know, you don’t know how hard it is
Try living in a place like this,
there’s something you’re bound to miss

The heart beats in me, the soul will kill me
Flood on fire, tied by wires let me burn
Too close to hear me I don’t need saving
Flood on fire, tied by wires let me burn

A void inside, a place to hide
With the lack of things that it provides
Somebody else must have got my life

Pleasured by a change in time
I’ve been living too long in the past
That never occurred, never will come back

You don’t know, you don’t know how hard it is
Try living in a place like this,
there’s something you’re bound to miss

The heart beats in me, the soul will kill me
Flood on fire, tied by wires let me burn
Too close to hear me I don’t need saving
Flood on fire, tied by wires let me burn
