Bio

Back in 1998, London-born Lu and James got together for the first time and started to develop what was soon to become the raw and catchy sound of Addicted first days. Three more musicians joined the band in their bunker/rehearsal space. With a guitarist a bassist and drummer, Addicted was born, a creation determined to prove themselves and match the heavyweights of modern rock n roll.

In 2000 the first demo was produced: four original songs written in English and recorded in Bergamo near Milan in Italy. They received great reviews with which to progress as a band and in 2003 two videos “Born Famous” and “Mad Guy” were recorded and releases as the band played their first gigs outside of Italy, rocking the stages of Spice of Life and the famous Art Café in London. This whistle stop tour turned the band in to a rapid response unit of kick ass rock vocals and a killer riff set.

Convinced that being different is a badge to wear with pride, Addicted rely upon their live shows as a calling card to anyone and everyone who will listen to the passion that can only come from the Latin lifeblood of the band: Music, escapism and a real will to be wild! In four years, Addicted have gone from regular gigs in Bergamo to bigger clubs like Rolling Stone and the Live Club in Milan assuring a good solid fan base near and far to get out to. And with a line-up of such diverse and interesting characters such as Brian the drummer, a self-styled guru in the ways of rock, this guy’s alter-ego is Brian Johnson in Italy’s No1 AC/DC tribute band! It’s damning proof that something’s gotta happen…

In February 2004 the album “Start the Fire” was released: 8 tracks came together during the London dates and the road trips that ensued. Following the reviews of the album this marked the turning point in Addicted career to date. In support of the album release that year the boys took on Heineken’s Jammin’ Festival in Imola as the openers at Italy’s biggest summer festival and in August of the same year the band performed at Rothenburg during the wet and muddy Taubertal Open Air Festival playing to a totally new and untouched fan base. “We gave 4 fans a t-shirt each” says Lu, “after the rain stopped and gave way to sunshine, we saw these 4 guys surrounded by dirty bodies from the rain before wearing these bright white t-shirts. It was an awesome gig.” In 2005 the band changes formation and direction and by early 2006 start playing regular London gigs in venues such as the Bull and Gate and the Carling Academy. The sound has matured and the songs have reached a new level: Addicted are now a band that is ready to be reasoned with!
