“st. louis natives addison were first to take the stage… nice vocal harmonies (including 3-part vocals with the drummer singing), interesting mid-tempo riffs, and an overall pleasant pop-ish rock that could easily win over a variety of music lovers. the band, which is smack-dab in the middle of their midwest tour, had a nice amount of fans with them who came all the way from st. louis to see them, however, they were forced to sit outside to watch their band rock out through the window by the stage, as they were underage. damned indiana blue laws anyway…..” - Chad Wells

Bio

addison

it’s about guitars. it’s about harmonies. it’s about attitude and adolescence. call it what you will—they call it addison—and it’s smart bomb rock.

with precision lyrical accuracy and genre-busting musical power, this 4-piece band from the midwest has been igniting audiences throughout the country.
said one industry veteran, “i haven’t heard an unsigned band this good since the replacements or the violent femmes. it’s only a matter of time before these guys take off.”

it all began in the fall of 2000 when lead guitarist jonathon kofahl, vocalist and guitarist josh quinn, and drummer kenn shane combined their talents for the first time, forming a band at their college in illinois. while this first musical adventure didn’t last past semester’s end, the foundation had been laid. it became apparent that shane’s skills as a songwriter could offer the backbone for a new, more experimental musical project. the following semester saw the addition of craig wahl on bass and vocals, bringing about the band’s current combustible chemistry. likened to fountains of wayne, the pixies and the beach boys, addison weds unforgettable melodies and surprising harmonies with a muscular yet dexterous dual guitar onslaught.

while they call st. louis “home”, addison has logged countless hours on the road, touring throughout the midwest and east coast. currently they are spending four months on the island of martha’s vineyard to write and record. with two independently released CDs already in circulation, the boys are now laying down tracks for their latest album, due out in the spring of 2002.
