"Adie – Reaction"

Like many of the singers and musician who attended the inaugural M3P conference at St James Cavalier last month, Adie gave me copies of her CDs to take home with me. I’m glad she did because I’m thus able to close this week’s podcast with her new single. There’s also a very decently produced video for this song, which I think deserves more attention that it has received so far, particularly by fans of her particular genre of music and associated styles. - Toni Sant (UK) - (23rd July 2011)

"Adie’s new reaction (25th April 2011)"

Maintaining her steady presence on the local music scene, Maltese singer Adie recently launched her latest single Reaction during an edition of Sunday television game show Hadd Ghalik.

The new single, written by American songwriter Bryan Steele and produced by Freetime Productions, is an edgy R’n’B song full of attitude and strong vocals, an aspect further emphasised by the presence of Sharks on Earth, a six-strong breakdance crew who feature in the accompanying video for the song.

The past year has been a busy one for Adie. Apart from releasing the song Tug of War in collaboration with popular Maltese rapper Hooligan, she also collaborated with various established songwriters from the US, Canada, the UK and Australia, whose resumés includes writing songs for the likes of Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls and Miley Cyrus.

More recently, Adie was also nominated for Best Female Solo Artist and Best Pop Artist awards on an international website by public vote. She was one of the 10 finalists in both categories with her self-penned song, If I Were You.

She also reached the semi-finals in a UK Songwriting Contest last year with another of her own compositions that will be released at a later date. The competition attracted over 50,000 songwriters from all over the world.

Adie is currently working on her second album. Reaction is available on iTunes and other online digital stores worldwide.

"Adie's Reaction (4th June 2011)"

After the launch of her new updated website last February, singer Adie followed up with a brand new single written by American songwriter Bryan Steele, called Reaction.

Reaction is an edgy song full of attitude and strong vocals, and is accompanied by Adie's 1st professional music video, filmed and produced by Evolution Media, with the participation of 6 very talented breakdancers, Sharks On Earth.

Adie has been pretty busy the past year working on her new songs with the collaboration of established songwriters from the US, Canada, UK and Australia, some of whom are also signed to Sony/ATV as well as Universal, as well as collaborators on songs for Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, The Pussycat Dolls and Christina Aguilera.

Adie recently organised a huge party at The Black Pearl in Ta' Xbiex during which she performed some of her new songs to her 200 special guests. Adie's fans and followers are now awaiting her 2nd album.

This year Adie was also nominated Best Female Solo Artist as well as Best Pop Artist on an international website where voting was by the public. In fact, she was one of the 10 finalists nominated for these 2 prestigious titles with her song If I Were You, written by Adie herself. Adie will also be remembered for her Tug Of War, sung with notorious local rapper Hooligan, launched in September 2010.

"Adie feat. Hooligan - Tug Of War"

Maltese pop singer Adrienne shortened her name to Adie last year and started flirting with R&B and raunchier sounds than the sort of tunes she wrote and sang in the many years she’s been active on the local music scene. A collaboration with Maltese rap king Hooligan will certainly give anyone an edge but it will take more than this to give Adie the street credibility she seems to be after with this song. Still, someone as driven as this singer-songwriter will keep exploring new ways to get noticed and that can only raise the possibility for producing something really memorable. This is the first time I’ve featured Adie on the MMI podcast but I’m pretty sure it’s not the last.

Discography

Adie's Reaction launched in April 2011 - a song that was written exclusively for her by Bryan Steele from US - definitely left a REACTION on local radio airwaves, TV and also overseas. Followed by Adie's 1st professional music video that was highly appreciated by the viewers, Adie's Reaction song & reviews were featured on the 3 main TV Stations' News Bullettin - prime time. Critics, journalists and bloggers have also included Adie and her groovy song on their prominent newspapers and magazines as well as on their famous online blog sites.

Last year Adie launched 2 singles penned by her called IF I WERE YOU as well as TUG OF WAR together with rapper Hooligan. Both singles did very well both on local and overseas radio play - in fact, IF I WERE YOU nominated Adie as a finalist in an international song contest where she was up for Best Female Solo Artist and Best Pop Artist whereas Tug Of War stabilised Adie's name in the music industry, especially in the Maltese Islands, Italy, UK and US.

Is now working on the 2nd album (1st International breakthrough attempt) and collaborating with international well-known songwriters mainly from the USA, UK and Australia. Gordon Pogoda (from US - who wrote songs for Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus & collaborated with songwriters who worked with Michael Jackson, Pussycat Dolls, Christina Aguilera etc), Cindy Ryan (from Australia - signed to SONY ATV and who has had 4 ARIA nominations as well as other honours), Bryan Steele and others, are a few names in Adie's list of songwriters for Album 2.

In 2008, Adie released her 1st local CD Album that contained 10 songs - 5 in native language (Maltese) and another 5 in English.

Out of the 10, it resulted that the song "Minn Qalbi" (a song about mothers & constantly requested especially on Mother's Day) was Adie's hit song in this album. The songs "Your Lips" and "Somebody Out There" were also played frequently on local radio stations and had great follow-up and feedback from listeners and music lovers of all ages.

Adie's songs are also playing on Jango (www.jango.com/music/Adie), iTunes (worldwide), Spotify, LastFm, IM Radio, Headliner FM, eMusic, Soundcloud, Shockhound, Rhapsody, Nokia and many others.

Bio

Since when she was a child, Adie was always part of the music and entertainment business since she started modelling, singing and dancing at a very young age. In fact, a recorded cassette of Adie (aged 5) singing Vanessa Paradis's song 'Jo Le Taxi', lead her to the beginning of this career where she was spotted by a local talent scout who started recording sessions with Adie.

Her music was influenced by many American & European artists - Akon, Alicia Keys, Nelly Furtado, J. Lo, The Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, Craig David and so many others. In fact, her genre focuses on pop with a cross-over of R&B/Dance/Hip-hop.

Having had many opportunities to work with elite companies in Malta & also opened the Malta Coca-Cola Music Festival in 2009, Adie has also been a supporting act singer for three very popular and well-known Italian singers (Riccardo Fogli, Luca Barbarossa and Scialpi) at just age 14.

Adie has released her very 1st CD Album in March 2009, in which half of the songs are her own compositions and she is now working on her second album in collaboration with international top songwriters.

What distinguishes Adie from other artists is the fact that she comes from an almost unknown tiny island that makes everyone curious to know more about this artist and the music that she can offer to her audience. Adie's voice and personality is a combination of strong and soft, passion and energy with that pinch of Arabic/Mediterranean feel to it.

Currently Adie is also competing in MOArtist where she needs many votes and fans in order to be able to get signed to EMI Record Label & expose her talent worldwide. This is the link to help her in her quest: http://www.moartist.com/index.php?page=profile&memid=10399
