Bio

Shaun Mulrooney is a serial renaissance man. While still only a boy he became a cult figure on the Dublin, Ireland music scene. In the early 2000 he founded breakthrough rock n roll group 'Humanzi'. Having tasted more of what life has to offer and having surfed the highs and lows of the major-label end of the record industry the boy is now a man. A man called 'Admiral Black'.

With a lot of history left burning in its wake Admiral Black is a forward thinking, forward moving entity that first began in Berlin.
Shaun moved from Dublin to the German capital with his Humanzi team-mates in search of something different. The spark came when he met musician and producer Earl Harvin who has worked with [to name but a few] Air, Tindersticks, The The, Jeff Beck and Seal [Yeah..Seal!!!] Whilst DJing at dirty Berlin haunt 'CCCP Bar' Shaun Recognized Earl [From seeing him play drums with Air] as he walked in on what was a quiet night at the club, Within 10 minutes Mulrooney had him agreeing to produce an album for him. After many false starts, the pair eventually set about making a record that revolved around Mulrooney's solo writings. Earl produced, helped with additional instruments and banged the drums, Shaun did played much everything else, The results of which can now be found on Admiral Black's forthcoming Debut album 'Phantasmagoric Sampler'. 'The Admiral' found a label in the guise of prestigious german indie 'Hazelwood', who are distributed through the mighty 'Rough Trade', the future is now stained with possibility.
In Admiral Blacks short live history he has done many sold out shows in his adopted metropolis of Berlin, A couple of big gigs in Dublin one of which being a support with one of Mulrooney's heroes Mark E Smith and The Fall. Shaun Also devotes a lot of time and energy to 'Future Days' a club which he has been running and DJing for the last 4 years. Having put a passionate and colorful live band together Admiral Black's flag is flying high as a live act and he is now ready to conquer the universe.
