Adonis Rose
Born in New Orleans in 1975, Adonis was given his first drum kit as a child, and has been playing ever since. Rose spent his high school years performing in New Orleans nightclubs and after graduation he spent the summer touring with Terence Blanchard. He attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA on a full scholarship. Adonis released his first CD, "Song for Donise" in 1998, while touring with Nicholas Payton. During his time with Payton, he was nominated for two Grammy awards-Dear Louis in 1998 and Sonic Trance in 2004. Rose has released four solo recordings as a leader. Adonis has performed with some of the greatest artists in the world including, Harry Connick, Jr., Aaron Neville, Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Betty Carter, Dianne Reeves and many others. On top of being one of the worlds best and most sought after musicians, he has also established himself as an educator. He has taught at many universities in and out of the United States. Adonis Rose is Artist in Residence The University of Texas at Arlington. Rose is a young charismatic musician who is dedicated to the preservation of jazz and educating youth about its history.
