Bio

Adrian B. Turner is a defiant voice in Contemporary Gospel. With a cutting edge and niche created on his own he has embarked upon an exciting ministerial field with a voice that speaks out with authority to the nations. Adrian B. Turner has been hiding in a cliff for some time now and has birthed a sound, style, and adds to the genre of Gospel in a way quite different that most notable voices. He is a southerner, born and raised from Mississippi. He is often prized back in the small town of Kemper as a gem to the community, and has been dubbed at it’s first Gospel Artist in over 130 years. Having been reared by Pentecostal parents and grandparents who served as Pastors he knows the true importance of staying true to the gospel message and most importantly having a heart for the people of God. He shares that heart in every beat and note of his first gospel recording CD, Soul Transition. Soul Transition speaks of the integrity, faith, and hope God has in-store for his people and those who will believe on the Lord Jesus. Since the tender age of 7 Adrian has been singing the good news in gospel music. He could attract anyone who lent a listening ear and ever since he has been doing just that. Adrian first began his musical journey after his high school choral director sought him out to join the High School quartet while in the seventh grade. This was a remarkable accomplishment that led him to become inspired one day to sing music professionally. His parents bought him his first boom box and Adrian would direct the bricks to the chimney imagining it was his choir and that he was the minister of music. It has been his desire to lead a music department and to soar on his own, but it wasn’t until his relocation to North Carolina after graduation that promoted himself through knowledge and advancement as he sang professionally with a recording choir Chapter 20. It was through that involvement that launched the singer into a spot with the legendary Shirley Caesar. While living in North Carolina he crossed paths with the legendary Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark and accredits where his is now vocally to the training efforts of the Clark sister.
Since Adrian’s infectious involvement with the Gospel Music Industry he has traveled the United States and abroad to places namely Jamaica, West Indies, Nassau & Freeport, Bahamas, Haiti, and massively nearly every state proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus in Song. His endearment to practice a life of holiness has afforded him the opportunity to share the central stage with; Hezekiah Walker, Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Ziel, Tanya Blount, Lil’ Mo, J. Moss, CeCe Winans, Kim Burrell, LeJuene Thompson, Pastor Wess Morgan, Michael W. Smith, Andre Crouch, Jessica Greene, and others. He has appeared on national television with the Word Network and the syndicated Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel (BET Network). He has ministered in performances with Dr. Bobby Jones for the Gospel At the Encampment-Cincinnati, Ohio, and the Word Network Tapings. He most recent performance has included the very popular Stellar Gospel Awards Post Reception, Stellar Awards Concert Seminar Series, sell out concert for nearly 5,000 with gospel artist Tonex-Pelham, Alabama, Carlos Hale’s very popular Nashville Urban Soul Café Concerts, Benita Bellamy & Wess Morgan Showcase Series, Dove Awards Performance Series for the Gospel Music Association, numerous Pentecostal Assemblies of the World(PAW)- Bishop’s Conference (Boston, MA), National Convention-Dallas, Texas, National Convention, Atlanta, GA, and many notable performances throughout the Washington, DC area.
Adrian can be best described as a lover of music. He is a servant firstly to the things of God. His service extends into his local church assembly as Minister of Music and Church Administrator. He is also a preacher of the Gospel and a Songwriter. He has penned his entire album Soul Transition released online August 25, 2009 and available in stores everywhere September 1, 2009. His sincere devotion and commitment has allowed him to soar into his own as a solo artist. Soul Transition, the album, is a journey through life inspiring everyone to keep the faith, hope, and courage in this day and time to survive. His message speaks to the young and old. His persona is charming and he pours out his heart in every note and tune he belts out! Coming from a rural southern background it is evident that with persistence all things are possible. He was raised on a farm and hales from a town with one stoplight. Adrian’s life speaks truthfully that dreams can come true when you believe. His Pentecostal upbringing has taught him a significant rule, “that only what you do for Christ will last.” Certainly Adrian B. Turner will stand the test of time as he embarks upon a ministerial height as Gospel’s newest Male Vocalist. He has one son, Jaylan S. Turner who has already showcased his interest in the drums.
