Bio

Adri Young was born with a silver spoon, not in her mouth, but near it, as she held it's microphone-like shape and performed for anyone who would listen to her sing songs by the likes of The Jacksons, Linda Ronstadt, Pat Benatar, James Taylor and Olivia Newton John. The youngest of 11 children, Adri needed to find creative ways to be heard and music was that way for her. Born of a classical vocalist mother and self proclaimed poet father, Adri's magnetic draw to singing and songwriting comes naturally. Her formal instruction with vocal and saxophone lessons at a young age further drew her onto the path of music, and when her parents said no to piano lessons, Adri resolved to teach herself in her school auditorium (reputedly while she was supposed to be in math and gym classes.) It was in that auditorium that she wrote her first fully charted song, which she later performed for her school.

Adri's adult life took her on a major detour, but she could not ignore the songs welling up inside, so she ultimately picked up her passion, dusted it off and jumped back into her roots with a vengeance. Adri then grabbed her husband's Martin and learned to play it in keeping with her passion to grow on her musical journey. Trips to Nashville and New York, and consultations with award winning songwriters contribute to this singer/songwriter's evolution.

Throughout the years, Adri has fronted many successful, popular projects including the contemporary Christian Rock band 'Trace of Grace', the Pop-Rock band 'Prism' and the Classic Rock band "The John Jamieson Band," all from upstate New York's Southern Tier. Her past experiences performing with a local theater group have added to her comfort on stage. Adri has written and performed on multiple radio jingles and she is also a member of NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International). She currently performs with the rock group Ivory Foster, the pop group Prism, and with a pianist for light jazz and "softer" events.

Adri recently completed her first solo project, "Enough": an EP of 5 songs which will be followed up by a full length album, "More Than Enough". These songs are a breakthrough, original effort in which Adri passionately redefines the Folk Rock genre in the tradition of Sheryl Crow and Shawn Colvin.

"[Adri's] insightful viewpoint and clever lyrics provide an eyes-wide-open examination of relationships, people and society, and her songs are an all-American, grassroots celebration that will make you want to listen again and again." -Todd Russell, former A&R rep
