Bio

Pianist, vocalist and composer ADRIANNE DUNCAN began playing the piano at the age of six and singing soon thereafter. The daughter of renowned classical guitarist Charles Duncan (whose instructional series The Art of Classical Guitar Playing is used in universities worldwide), Adrianne attended Northwestern University on a music scholarship and is the winner of numerous awards and piano competitions. She has performed in multiple capacities: as a solo artist, in a duo, with chamber groups, in jazz ensembles and as a soloist with a symphony orchestra.

Influenced by such songwriter-poets as Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake, but with a love for the harmonic and melodic sensibilities of such greats as Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett and Wayne Shorter, Adrianne has created a unique sound with evocative lyrics and lush chord progressions. She brings a modern edge to classic repertoire, infuses pop and rock tunes with jazz harmonies and brings her own complex sounds to contemporary sentiments.
