Adrian on The Radio

Adrian Hummel is a hard working, relevant deejay currently operating at two radio stations in the Dallas Ft. Worth market. He combines his on-air persona with social media outlets in order to create a solid connection with the station’s audience. He believes this connection is at the core for creating audience loyalty now that the listener has so many media choices. Although his current position has offered many opportunities to this point, Adrian feels its time to make connections on a larger scale.

His first morning show opportunity came when he got a wake up called that notified him that he was selected to be a contestant on a popular morning show here in Dallas. Adrian excelled at every task given to him and eventually won a spot on the show. However, 6 months later the station flipped formats and everyone from the morning show was let go and Adrian was the only person left.

“That time was filled with uncertainty and luckily they kept me on promoted me and made me apart of launching Jack-FM (KJKK). At one time I was working for three different radio stations, trying anything and everything to work my way up. I honestly was trying to make something of myself and I didn’t want to miss out on any opportunities.”

After some time he was hired by a local indie Christian Rock station, to do weekends, and eventually progressed to his current position of Afternoon Drive and Music Director. Although Power FM is a niche’ station in a large market it really allowed Adrian to get to know the audience and begin to use social media to connect with listeners making radio less of a one way street.

“I knew that this was something that I wanted to do, something I knew I could do if given the opportunity. I know how to create interesting relevant radio, that is both music driven and listener focused.”

In addition to Adrian’s duties at Power FM he is also a weekend deejay at the Marconi award winning 106.1 KISS FM (KHKS). The station consistently is ranked #1 in its target demographic and is the home to Kidd Kraddick in the morning and Billy The Kidd.

Adrian is ready to take the next step in his career and is looking for future and current full time opportunities in either CHR or ALT format. He is also willing to join in on the role of a morning show or is open to syndication deals and possibilities.
