NEW YORK - While the media continues to contemplate the future of the music business, singer-songwriter Adrienne Arno was not content to wait for the answer. The indie artist chose instead to explore the boundaries of the typical singer-songwriter tack with the creation of her album, theVirgin Hunger. Adrienne Arno's passionate voice and thought-provoking songs have mesmerized and inspired fans all over the worldwide web, earning her comparisons to celebrated artists such as Tori Amos and Tom Waits.
theVirgin Hunger, Adrienne Arno's official studio debut, invites the listener on a sonic journey into the landscape of "passion, pure and complex". Using the dialects of desire as her guide, her songs pull back the covers of the desire never voiced, the flesh never tasted, the moment never experienced, and the want left unsatisfied.
theVirgin Hunger was recorded in New York City and co-produced by Adrienne Arno in collaboration with a lineup of critically acclaimed producers, including Grammy winner Mark Urselli, the Billboard chart-topping Mike Guerrio, and New York City's musical mastermind Rich Leissler. The record's first single, "The Next Best Thing to Jesus", is already a hit on internet and commercial radio stations worldwide. theVirgin Hunger combines old school acoustic piano, electronic arrangements and all girl vocals to create what industry professionals have called "pop a la Tori Amos meets disco!"
With the web series, "Girl Talk", the buzz continues to grow around the intriguing Ms. Arno, whose latest studio single from theVirgin Hunger "Something Pure," written, composed and performed by Adrienne, was chosen by Executive Producers as the title song for the high profile web drama.
