I honestly feel that my "calling" is be a great songwriter, of all genres... I write with great ease, posessing over 400 song lyrics, with 45 already recorded. I pull song ideas from my every day experiences, from catchy phrases I hear, and from personal thoughts, that flow with ease..., being able to write a song within minutes..., following the flow of words and ideas ! I also have the satisfying ability to compose and dream of new tunes... melodies, lyrics and even the music, while sleeping ! And I'm sure to keep a recorder along my bedside, at all times, just for this purpose. I have the ability to hear someone's music, comprehend the songs' theme, and comprise prolific lyrics and a melody very easily and quickly. I am influenced by such a variety of artists, from Duke Ellington, and the music of the 30's and 40's, to artists such as Jill Scott, Sade, Erika Badu, Anthony Hamilton and Beyonce', to popular groups such as, The Pussy Cat Dolls, Sting, Don Henley and The Eagles..., to classical artists. My goal is to write for various new, and established recording artists, and win numerous Grammy Awards for my songs, in numerous catagories... and having the opportunity to display my abilities would be SUCH a blessing, and the beginning of my intended career !
