"1st album review"

Vancouverite Andy Warren's debut release is an eclectic, Ben Harperish amalgam of poly rhythms laid over jazz, funk, soul and folk/roots elements that makes for a surprising and interesting whole. 3/5 stars

Bio

Andy 'A-Dub' Warren is a Vancouver-based singer-songwriter. THE BLURRING LINE EP is his 2nd record and is available on iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, and at Highlife World Music and Fingerprints Music on Long Beach California.

Andy worked for several years at a unique Music Shop called Highlife World Music, where he soaked up the sounds of Manu Chao, Spearhead, Solomon Burke, Madeleine Peyroux amongst others. As he started this new EP at Bakerstreet Studios in January 2006, Paul Baker introduced him to 2 British musicians who had recently moved to Vancouver - Derek 'Jingles' Jhingoree and Joe Bashorun. Interestingly, Jingles and Joe had recently re-connected in Vancouver, after having known each other several years ago in England where Jingles had played with Geoffrey Williams and Howard Jones, and Joe had played with Annie Lennox, Jamiroquai and Ernest Ranglin. Andy brought in session and touring monster Geoff Hicks on Drums and a certain chemistry was discovered.

Songs from the EP have been used on the television shows Love Monkey and Men In Trees.
