"Full Sail Got Talent Winners"

"Full Sail's Got Talent!" Winners
Wednesday, October 3, 2007; Last Updated: 11:35 AM EDT (11:35 GMT)

Home-grown talent show draws a crowd

The talent show, held Friday, Sept. 21 at Full Sail Live, featured student emcee Paige DeMarco, who introduced each talent act. “[Paige] did a great job keeping the show flowing and introducing the acts,” said Student Advisor Shirley Enriquez.

The winners were:
First Place: Cassidy Malone, comedy act
Second Place: Michael Griffith (Dreco), street dance
Third Place: Katrina Schutt (Katy D.) and Sean Lukas, singing with guitar accompaniment

“I think that [the show] gave our students an opportunity to showcase talents that we normally wouldn’t see in the classroom. The energy was high and everyone showed up ready to win,” said Shirley Enriquez.

The show featured some outstanding talent and had an excellent audience turnout. Student Advising Manager Lisa Grau said, “The talent displayed was awesome and a nice variety. The comedian was hilarious and was a nice change. The venue was packed and there were even some guests standing.”

The judges for the event were last year’s Full Sail Idol winner and Music Business student, Ronald Lewis, Sophia Buggs, Associate Course Director for Public Speaking and Brandy Hannah, Financial Aid Administrator. To determine the winners, the judges chose the top three acts and the third place winner. The audience chose between Cassidy and Dreco for first place.

In addition to judging, Ronald Lewis also performed. “He is the full package when it comes to what it means to be a performer and a Full Sail student,” said Senior Student Advisor Liane Pardo.

Local radio station Power 95.3 attended the event and gave prizes to audience members who answered questions about Full Sail.

Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to everyone who participated and attended, helping make this year’s “Full Sail’s Got Talent!” a success!

"MTV2 Dew Circuit Breakout"

BOUT MTV2’S DEW CIRCUIT BREAKOUT '07

The 12 contenders are chosen!

During the month of September, we asked bands across the country to sign up for a shot at MTV2 stardom... and THOUSANDS of talented artists answered the call. MTV2's expert music and talent panel checked out every band and (man, it was a tough call) hand-selected 12 worthy competitors (Including Aeon "The Ace"). Now it’s YOUR TURN to pick your favorites.

It wasn’t just us doing all the work. You rated, you shouted out, and now you can CAST YOUR VOTE and determine who moves on.

Sign up as a Fan and you can show your love for your favorite bands. Plus, you may see your comments up on MTV2! Make your voice heard!

How this year’s competition works

How did bands like Halifax, Hellogoodbye, Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday and Hawthorne Heights get their big break? By taking part in MTV2's Dew Circuit Breakout, that's how! And now it could be your band's turn to become the next big thing!

This year MTV2 and Mountain Dew team up to bring you a totally new Dew Circuit Breakout. What's new? For the first time ever, we're opening the competition up to the masses, giving bands the ability to wow fans and MTV2 music execs alike right here. Bands can create profiles and upload content to show who they are and what their music sounds like. That's right, bands will be able to upload songs, videos, pics ... whatever they think will impress!

12 lucky bands will be hand-picked by MTV2's expert music and talent panel, then the competition really begins. There are three eliminations leading up to the Live Finale, where 2007's victor will be crowned. Sounds cool, right?

Dude, and the payoff is tremendous! The Top 6 Finalists get a visit from MTV crews in their hometown and filmed in action for segments on air! The Top 3 Finalists that make the cut will be flown to New York City to perform during the Dew Circuit Breakout Finale, LIVE from Times Square, where our winner will be announced. The victor will be thrown back on stage to star in their very first MTV music video for rotation on-air. This year's top dog will get TONS of exposure on MTV and MTV2, including being strongly considered for MTV's Artist Of The Week. In addition, they'll grab some air time on Discover & Download and Unleashed, where the latest, most anticipated, most cutting-edge work from the biggest players in rock and hip hop premiere on MTV2. Other gifts from our friends and partners will pop up along the way. What more could an up-and-coming band ask for?!?

As you can tell, this isn't your ordinary, everyday battle-of-the-bands competition. Dew Circuit Breakout has a proven track record of finding the next big thing and giving them their first (big) taste of success.

Like we said, this competition has helped launch the careers of several of today's hottest bands. After ruling the Dew Circuit, Yellowcard went on to have the smash hits "Ocean Avenue" and "Lights and Sounds." Taking Back Sunday headlined the Warped Tour and had the hits "MakeDamnSure" and "Liar (It Takes One to Know One)." Hellogoodbye's Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! did some damage on the Billboard album chart. Hawthorne Heights became emo darlings. And Halifax has been steaming up MTV and MTV2 and ripping up the road. - MTV

Bio

Who Is Aeon?

“It is said” that this particular artist will spark a change or shift in Hip-Hop, which will lead to the evolution and transformation of the art itself. Ronald "Aeon" Lewis (21) is A Brooklyn born native who's passion for music inspired him to develop skills in Songwriting, Producing, Performing, and Audio Engineering at an early age. With these acquired skills he then further developed his artistic expression with his distinct style, voice, witty flow, deliverance and conviction.

Currently he is attending Full Sail University in Orlando Florida studying Recording Arts, to enhance his engineering
Skills; while preparing for the life altering moves he will be making
in the near future. His highly anticipated Independent debut album,
entitled "I-Ology" is in the recording stage and will be released in
2008.

On the album his deep routed lyrics will take you on a first hand audio tour of his life experiences with a new story to tell as you progress through each track. Hidden within the record is also a positive and uplifting message as opposed to the usual negative condensation with most of the present day rappers. Many have attributed Aeon’s universal appeal to his conscious rap style and deliverance. In one of Aeon's songs he recites, “You can do anything you want. It takes time; just strive and don't give in.” He later explains the concept behind the song and goes on to say, “If you want something bad enough and you work towards it, it can be accomplished even with the odds against you. Nothing is given to you and you only get back what you put in. If you do NOTHING the only thing you will get in return is NOTHING.”

With this in mind the ambitious multi-talented Individual
Aeon proceeds to work hard along with other members of the Be Real
Entertainment (an extension of Aeon’s musical circle) to make a difference in not only the HIP-HOP world, but The Entertainment Industry as well.
