THE BAND'S SECOND SONG, REARVIEW, IS A CLASSIC SOUTHERN ROCK TUNE THAT IS BASED ON AN INTIRELY TRUE STORY OF LEAVING A SOON-TO-BE EX-GIRLFRIEND LITERALLY CRYING IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR AS JESH YANCEY DROVE AWAY. THE NEXT SONG, HOLD STEADY, IS A PIECE OF ADVICE FROM THE WRITER, JESH YANCEY, TO EVERYONE IN HIS LIFE AND MOSTLY TO HIMSELF IT IS BEUTIFULLY WRITTEN WITH A SOLID MESSAGE AND WELL-THOUGHT-OF LYRICS. FINALLY, PEACE OF MIND, IS A FIFTH LATER'S JAM SONG, WITH A BACKBONE AS STURDY AS AMERICAN STEAL THE SONG GROOVES ITS WAY THROUGH YOUR EARS AND MAKES YOUR HEAD BOB FROM THE FIRST LISTEN AND EASES ITSELF DOWN TO YOUR FOOT, THIS IS A SONG THE DOORS WISH THEY COULD'VE RECORDED!

A Fifth Later was formed in Jacksonville Alabama in 2007 by Josh Mullican, Will Dowdy and Jesh Yancey. When 2008 rolled around the guys found themselves without a drummer and bass player due to musical differences. So the guys called up and old friend, Jason Adams to play drums and Jesh Yancey easily switched over to fill the bass position. With a new fresh lineup and a solid sound the guys were soon playing in Birmingham, Gadsden, Jacksonville, Tuscaloosa and all over the state. The guys had a taste for the the life of gigging musicians. Then came the end of 2008 when singer Will Dowdy decided to call it quits. Disbanded, A Fifth Later went their seperate ways only to be reunited by fate in early 2009. The guys brought in new front man Wesley Barnes from Sardis, Alabama and new guitarist Neal Hawkins from Gearldine, Alabama, who brought along with them the new dynamic the band needed. The new version of A Fifth Later decided to get back to their roots of American Rock'n'Roll and Blues. After many long talks with a few beers and some time to kill the guys finaly found the right direction and focus to keep them pushing their musical edge for 2009. By April the guys have finished their first EP at Clrearwave Recording Studio in Decatur Alabama. With songs that swing from ,in your face rock'n'roll tunes of "Lie Cheat and Steal" and "Rearview" to the more melodic, Jazz/jam-band feels of "Peace of Mind" and "Hold Steady". All songs were mostly based on mostly true stories of life and all the things that come with it. The passion of this lineup is undeniable when you see them play.
