"Auditory Asylum"

Describing the sound of the band is like trying to bottle a flame, it kind takes a life of its own while consuming everything it touches. The tracks on “Beneath Your Waves” hit the airwaves with a mix of pop laced, piano driven, classic rock. Its a sound that is so precise that for most bands it would be hard to reproduce that sound live - A Formal Affair (Auditory Asylum)

"92.9 NIN"

"Music with undeniable charisma .Their songs have everything listeners want; beats to make your feet move and a voice to make your knees weak." - Jasmine E - Radio Host (92.9 KNIN)

Bio

Heavy-hitting piano rock riffs and hooks mixed with a powerful, soulful voice define A Formal Affair. However, the musical complexity used to tie this group together truly makes the band greater than the sum of its parts and ahead of its time in the pop/rock genre. A Formal Affair has drawn correlations to worldwide sensations The Fray, Maroon 5, Gavin DeGraw, and Jack’s Mannequin.

Residing in the Dallas metroplex, they have performed hundreds of times across the state of Texas in the past 3 years. This experience has allowed the group to develop a live show and a stage presence ready for national showcasing. A Formal Affair has recently shared the stage with Platinum selling, Grammy nominated acts Everclear and Bowling for Soup. They have independently booked shows at The House of Blues and Trees in Dallas and Emo’s in Austin.

Their single, Two Towns, from their first EP received steady airplay in 2010 and 2011 on 92.9 KNIN, becoming the most requested song in the station’s history. The band released their full-length album entitled “Beneath Your Waves” in February of 2012. The album features the radio-ready piano rock tunes “Lights Go Out”, “I Was Young”, and “ The Right Times” along with acoustic guitar driven tracks such as “Take Two”.
