Bio

In the music industry, we can never underestimate the power of new artists. They are the new blood that brings energy and income to the recording industry.

Afro Connection was founded on February 22, 2007 by KID-KHALIL, BMC, and DEDE. All the three members are originally from Africa. They started working together when Khalil met BMC at his brother’s shop in 2005, and then they recorded two hot tracks called “Joggyti Mic” and “BMC Is The One” at the same day. They performed several concerts together and it was amazing. They sounded well as a group. The crowds loved them and then they decided to form a group. Since they are all from Africa, but in different area, therefore, they came up with the name “Afro-Connection” Dede and Khalil are originally from Guinea Conakry, and BMC is from Senegal.

Afro-Connection influences are Bob Marley, KSR One, Positive Black Soul, De La Soul, Rakim, Fugees, etc. Each member of the group has been rapping since 1998 back home before they came to the United States for education and to pursue their music careers in States. They all live in Denver, Colorado and they have been in the Unite States for almost ten years now.

Music is their destiny and it is what gets them going! The art form of music is known as a savior of mankind. Dead and ill people react to it and it has been said to revive people in a coma. An example of this transformation can be seen in Afro Connection abilities to unify as Africans and create songs from their African and American spirits, and convert them into lyrics in accompanying music, whether it is Hip Hop, Reggae, Dance-hall, Afro-beat, R&B, or Soul! They are crossover-recording artists that not just make the music that sells but deliver the tunes that move your soul.

Afro Connection has collaborated with other African big name artists such as Fafadi, Baxow, Tapha, etc. They spend most of their time making new music and performing in local, national, and international music venues counting Colorado, New York, Nashville, Africa, France, Germany, UK, and more. They share the same stage with super stars like E40, Lil Wayne, Ice Cube, Wyclef Jean, and more in over 20,000 crowds in theaters like Fiddlers Green Amphitheatre.

Afro connection is the first unsigned hip hop group in Colorado that has not just gained local but international intention including major radio stations such as KS 1075 and KGNU 88.5. They are one of the most artists to watch in Colorado and Internationally. Their biggest moments are countless including Summer Jam, the biggest Hip Hop and R&B concert in Colorado and other music concerts around the world. There are over 10 international TV channels such as Walftv, RDV, 2stv, Trace, so on ready to air to their first music video from the # 1 smash hit single “Shake It” in their debut untitled album, which will be released in June 2009 worldwide.
