After Dark can be described as many things, part rock n’ roll, part funk, with a heapin’ helping of good old fashioned soul. After Dark was formed in the spring of ’03, and now boasts a list of over 25 original tunes which we have used to entertain crowds in the locale of the Western Carolina Mountains for the last three years. This eight piece behemoth of a band has but one sole purpose; to spread the message that good music is alive and well and that it’s still okay to move your body to a funky beat. Comprised mostly of students from the Western Carolina University jazz program, the versatility and virtuosity of the musicians involved in After Dark is a key element of the growing desire among fans to keep coming back to hear what will happen next.
