After Play Rewind - Chemistry EP
RIYL: And Then There Were None, Breathe Carolina, 3OH!3 - Absolute Punk

"After Play Rewind"

With music that fits where they are from, After Play Rewind’s new EP ‘Chemistry’ is filled with fun electronic/pop dance songs that make you feel like you flew out to a party in Las Vegas. After Play Rewind have two members, David Keller (Vocals/Programming) and Chris Smith (Vocals/Programming). BandTraffic got the chance to get the scoop on After Play Rewind’s new EP from the band’s own Chris Smith. They started in Florida with four members, “After completing an EP and playing shows extensively, we went on hiatus. We had some member changes throughout the time in Florida, and eventually broke up.” Chris and David went on to further create music in the same style as After Play Rewind, and decided to keep the same name, and moved to Las Vegas to start anew. Bands that After Play Rewind is hoping to tour with are Breathe Carolina and Kill Paradise. “There are many bands we would love to tour with such as bands in our genre; Breathe Carolina, 3Oh!3, And Then There Were None, Kill Paradise, and The Secret Handshake. Pretty much any band on Rise Records, and Fearless Records as well.” When asked how they came up with the band name, Chris replied, “The band name was thought up of by our previous keyboardist’s girlfriend (I wish we had a better story of how that happened, ha-ha).” Even though After Play Rewind is not yet working on an album, they gave us more to look forward too. “We are, however, recording a demo featuring five acoustic versions of various songs from our ‘Break the Ice’ and ‘Chemistry’ EPs.” After Play Rewind is letting everyone know, “We write, mix, produce and master all of our own tracks and are interested in producing other bands (because David went to Full Sail University for Recording Arts and Entertainment Business.)” They are planning to tour as soon as possible, but until they hit the road you can download their newest Free EP “Chemistry” here!

Bio

For nearly five years, David Keller and Chris Smith, who comprise After Play Rewind, have been writing and producing their own music. They are slowly but enthusiastically creating a new sound that is a dynamic, fun electronic/pop mix of other genres born out of their own musical past. They started in Germany with a four person band that played mostly hard rock/screamo and broke out into the local scene in several clubs and events in the Heidelberg area. They recorded an EP to promote the band and this gave them the confidence to know their talent would be some day realized.

David and Chris then moved to Orlando where the band APR formed. They joined APR as vocalists and for nearly a year worked to develop their own niche in the Florida music scene. With a lot of work and dedication they moved forward. They recorded their first “mastered EP” and played shows extensively throughout the state. Through band member changes and classes at Full Sail University they pressed forward. Finally, the band went on a hiatus due to personal differences and David and Chris decided to keep the name and continue to create music. With a new talent that involved David’s newly certified recording arts skills he and Chris started to go it alone and created an even more modern electronic sound for APR.

The choice to move their songwriting and singing to Las Vegas was led by other events, but it has been a move they both feel has been for the best. Their music is completely written, recorded, mixed and produced by Dave and Chris, and there are no loops in the production. They even do their own mastering and their talent only increases with time. Their music reflects the new environment of the world’s greatest party city and APR is now poised before a music scene that is ready and waiting for their breakthrough.

They are taking the first steps to moving into the live world, counting on their constantly growing fan base. Where ever the party is you’ll find APR. They are also seeking to do some future touring. They want to take their music to the fans where they can “reach out and touch those that like our music.”

As if doing their own music isn’t enough they are also interested in producing other Bands/Musicians. David has a degree from Full Sail University in Recording Arts and Entertainment Business and he graduated in the top of his class in audio engineering.

Now is the time for their action to begin.
