After The Empire

Derek Kirk, Eric Wright, and Zach Brown, and Chad Harms all played in a band called Sons&Lovers. A few years ago that band split up and everyone went their separate ways for a period of time. However, the above mentioned members reformed as a casual project, with no particular plans or direction, which eventually formed into After The Empire. The musical chemistry between them persisted it seemed. This new band had some musical elements of their former band but with a darker and more aggressive twist. Their friend from back home Ivan Brkljacic joined in as frontman and fellow vocalist alongside Derek Kirk who was developing as a vocalist as well. After many live shows and recording a few demo tracks Ivan left the band to pursue other interests and Derek Kirk took over as the main Vocalist. Around this time Chad Harms also received an opportunity to teach abroad in Korea. However, his replacement Chris Doucette managed to fill the role of Bassist for the band very well. With this new line-up and Derek on Lead Vocals they have written a new repertoire of songs for their live show and plan to record them very soon.
